This week I spent most afternoons in the garage. Having changed jobs again I now have long summer holidays to work on the car. This week I spent a very fruitful time removing the front reinforcement panel, front valance and driver's side 1/4 panel. I even managed to get the new ones welded in in place. When written it hardly seems like a lot but it is 3 new panels, some of which I bought at BVF this year. The car actually now looks like it is a car again with a completely new front end. Next job is the driver's side heater channel.

This week I also helped a guy over the road by doing a bit of welding on his wiper mechanism for his splitty. There seem to be loads of VWs in our road. There is me with mine, a guy with a splitty and Karmann Ghia, a guy further down with a late 60's bay and someone even further along with a Karmann Ghia that seems to be permanently under cover.
