More work done :-) I ordered a load of stuff from Frost yesterday - a tinmans mallet, some zinc primer and some of that rust away that neutralises rust and then leaves a zinc oxide coating on the metal (thought it was worth a try).

As for last night I got home wheeled the bug out and attacked the remaining part of the heater channel at the front. Got that removed and cleaned up the area so it looks a lot nicer. I then test fitted the closure panel for the heater channel. Fitted perfectly, still a bit more clearing up to do at the rear bulkhead but it's progress.

Then I had a go at where the panel joins the spare wheel well and reinforcement panel. Eventually got that cleaned out and all the metal off there so I thought I'd try fitting the wing! This is where my problems started! Do you think I could figure out how to get the panel underneath the reinforcing panel, inside the spare wheel well AND underneath the windscreen scuttle?? Well eventually I got the panel into the spare wheel well and underneath the reinforcing panel which were the two hardest points or so I thought! Of course then you don't have enough leverage to lower the panel beneath the scuttle and infront of the A post! So at this point I gave up and removed the panel as I hadn't treated the surface rust that I needed to - that is next weeks job when I have all the bits from Frost.

The other thing I found was that the front bulkhead was totally knackered (both skins!) So I figure I am going to have to replace both of those at some point. I reckon this will be easier with the body off as they will be easier to access and the body will remain rigid if I just chop that out.
