I actually managed to work on the bug last night - first time for 2 weeks! I finished cleaning up around the bottom of the windscreen so the replacement 1/4 panel will fit nicely there. I removed the old door hinge by cutting the back of the bolts off - I had to do this as they were completely stuck and the heads were a bit mangled.

I then spent some time finishing stripping the 1/4 panel off the front bulkhead. Got most of it removed just need to remove the last vestiges of the old heater channel and that bit will be finished ready for the new panel. Then I just need to clean up round the spare wheel well ready for the new panel and zinc primer everything in sight after removing the surface rust! And finish welding in the A post replacement panel after bending it to shape for the footwell.

Slow progress is being made but I am finding it difficult as I really don't know what I am doing!
