| Materials: ~ 1 piece of recycled paper ~ Black paint ~ 1 pencil ~ 1 paint brush ~ 1 black marker ~ 1 orange cereal box ~ glue ~ scissors ~ 1 recycled straw |

| (1) Draw an outline of the Monarch Butterfly using recycled paper and pencil. Go over the sketch with a black marker. |

| (2) Cut out the white parts of the cereal box and paste them along the edges of the drawing. Using a black marker, draw the pattern of the border characteristic of the Monarch butterfly. |

| (3) Cut out pieces of the orange cereal box and paste them within the border of the wings of the butterfly. Paint the body with black paint. |

| (4) Cut out the butterfly. Cut the straw in thirds at an angle. Paste two pieces of straw behind the head of the butterfly. |
