More crazy espionage hijinks with the Cortez family.
Story:
Before even releasing Sky Kids Dimension Films was so impressed with it that the greenlighted a sequel. When Robert was doing some post-production work on the original at George Lucas' Skywalker Sound George showed him some footage from Star Wars Episode II, all of which was shot digitally. Robert was so impressed with
the quality that he has decided to shoot this move using the same digital camera technology.
Updates:
4/17/01 - The movie is in pre-production and will probably be shot in the fall for a Summer 2002 release. Robert discussed Spy Kids 2 with USA Today. He told them:
"It�s the same family, but It�s another world completely. People say this one is James Bond plus Willy Wonka. The sequel will be James Bond plus something else, which I can't say because it's such a cool idea I don't want anyone to run with it. I can�t say too much, but people really responded to the fantasy element in this and it[the sequel] is much more fantastical. I�m really glad because I�ve written it already and when this was successful I thought that�s good I can go even further. It�s called the Island of Lost Dreams."
5/17/01 - Robert will start shooting this winter for an August 2002 release date.
