N8 ART LIT BLOG ME LINKS
02/03/04 Welcome to n8's artpage! Eventually, this page will be divided into two sections: art and comics. I have a couple of web-comics planned, but I probably won't be able to start them until at least the end of the week. For now, I'm going to post some of my recent artwork. I work primarily in pencil and ink. Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner, so I'm forced to take pictures of my work with a digital camera and then use a photo-editing program to adjust the contrast to get rid of the gray. Even so, the edges of frames will sometimes be warped because of the camera transfer. I don't want to hear any complaints, though, or I'll crush this kitten. Click the thumbnail for the full picture.
This was one of my first finished works since I got back from Canada. I called it "The Wanderer" for lack of a better term. Do you realize that if this man were to spring to life, leaping from the page and into reality, he still wouldn't be allowed inside a 7-11? That's what I call injustice.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with samurai history. I drew this from a picture in the Last Samurai movie guide. Inspired by Frank Miller's work in Sin City, I love trying to create absolute dark and lights, without any gradients.
