Lori's web "to do" list

Note that the search engine maths links this time are a mixture of Alltheweb and Google queries. Lately I have been using Alltheweb exclusively, mainly because it's not Google. This had not been, in my case, an expression of anti-Google sentiment; rather a sort of "rooting for the underdog(s)." Then came the news that Google refused to comply with the Justice [sic] Department's subpoena of a week or so worth of query traffic. Items of the query type added to this list subsequently were entered as Google searches to indicate my approval. Then, of course, came Google's announcement that (like too many other informational conglomerates) it would work with rather than against the government of the People's [sic] Republic of China reguarding freedom of information and related matters. Since I believe in rebellion against authority rather than so-called constructive engagement, the "buycott" is over. So the searches on this "to do" list include Alltheweb searches, followed by Google searches, followed by Alltheweb searches. The Google searches were all of course added during that brief moment in history between my receiving news of the two Google-related announcements. The Alltheweb searches are either before or after that window. In the interest of symmetric transparency, I am thinking of incorporating a "time stamping" feature into future versions of my Web "To Do" List.
