Thank you for visiting the HMS colorguard website. The guard is currently in its 2nd year of existence and is doing very well. The program was created as a feeder in the the larger unit at La Mirada High School. However, it has been built up to score that match those of the high school program. The team is instructed by Missy Hill and Nathan Ortiz, and advised by the band director, Mrs. Sandy Dhalberg.
This year there are 13 girls on the colorguard, who are very dedicated and talented. The girls are performing in competition their show entitiled "Colorblind" by Counting Crows. They took first place at their first time out at Los Altos High School and were immediately reclassified to a higher division. They continue to impress their instructors, family, and friends with their great success.
