Who Murdered Travis Cox? Pt. 1
Private Trent Spriggs was convinced that Travis Cox's murder was perpetrated by one of the area's competing merchandisers at the sales conference hotel. Each suspect was carrying a different piece of personal luggage, reading a different newspaper, wearing a different color coat, and arrived at the hotel at a different time (one arrived at 9:15am). From eye witness accounts, Spriggs was able to ascertain that the suspect carrying the brown attache could not have committed the murder. He had yet to identify which was which. Given these clues, match the suspects with their attributes.
1) The suspect with the burgundy briefcase was either
reading the Eastside Courier and wearing a gray sports jacket, or
reading the South Valley Daily and wearing a black trench coat.
2) The suspect with the tan backpack was wearing a white sweater.
3) At 10:30 am, the suspect with the black appointment book
arrived, but was not wearing the black trench coat and was not
reading the Downtown Gazette.
4) The suspect who arrived at 10:00 am was either reading the
Downtown Gazette and wearing a blue windbreaker, or reading the
South Valley Daily and wearing a green jeans jacket.
5) Arriving at 9:30 am, the suspect with the gray umbrella was
either reading the Seattle Weekly Post and wearing a blue
windbreaker, or reading the Northside Press in a black trench
coat.
6) The Downtown Gazette was not being read by the suspect with
the brown attache.
7) The suspect wearing the gray sports jacket arrived at 9:00 am.

Who Murdered Travis Cox? Pt. 2
Hot on the trail of Travis Cox's murderer, Private Trent Spriggs continued to investigate the five suspects. The sales conference they attended ran five consecutive weekdays, and each suspect made a presentation on a different day. Each of the five arrived via a different mode of transportation (one walked), with a different companion, (although one came alone), and sold merchandise for a different company (one was Dever Wires). Dirkson determined that the suspect who made a presentation on Wednesday could not have committed the murder, but still had not identified which was which. Given these clues, match the suspects with their attributes.
1) The Bayer Electro employee came by monorail and
presented on Monday.
2) On three consecutive days, the presenters were in order: the
Skatekey Systems representative, the one who came by taxi, and
the one who came with his boss.
3) The Turner Optics representative came alone.
4) The suspect who came on the Metro bus presented last.
5) The bicyclist presented earlier in the week than the suspect
who came with his wife.
6) Presentations were given in the following order on three
consecutive days: the suspect who came with his secretary, the
one accompanied by his girlfriend, and the Ajax Tool
representative.

Who Murdered Travis Cox? Pt. 3
Narrowing down suspects for Travis Cox's murder, Private Trent Spriggs discovered the first name of each, the award each one received at ceremonies held in different rooms of the convention hotel, and the district of the city that each suspect covered (one is the Rainier Beach district). Spriggs determined that the salesman covering the Queen Anne Hill district could not have committed the murder, but still had not identified which was which. Given these clues, match the suspects with their attributes.
1) Three of the suspects were George (who did not
receive his award in the Ballard Room), the Rookie of the Year
recipient, and the salesman who received his award in the Global
Room.
2) Mr. Congeniality was not named in either the Atrium or the
Auditorium. Richard, who was not named Mr. Congeniality, doesn't
cover Queen Anne Hill district.
3) James, who does not cover the University district, received a
promotion to manager, but not in the Auditorium. 4) The
University district salesman, who is not George or Richard,
received his award in the Palisade Room.
5) George did not receive the Best Salesman award, and Martin did
not win Rookie of the Year.
6) The award given to the Wedgwood district salesman was not for
Alan, George, or Richard and was not presented in either the
Ballard Room or the Global Room.
7 ) The Most Motivated award was not presented to the salesman
from the Capital Hill district and was not presented in the
Auditorium.
8) The suspect covering the Queen Anne Hill district did not
receive an award in the Atrium.

Who Murdered Travis Cox? Pt. 4
Private Trent Spriggs is closing in on Travis Cox's murderer. He determined that all five suspects had lunch in the same restaurant, but had different entrees (one had tempura shrimp) and beverages (one had coffee). He found that each came from a different hometown, and the oldest is 52. Spriggs determined that the salesman from Bellevue could not have committed the murder, but still had not identified which was which. Given these clues, match the suspects with their attributes.
1) The five suspects are all different ages: The one
who had fried rice for lunch is 25 years older than the salesman
from Auburn, but only 19 years older than the one who had tea,
and the one from Seattle is 24 years younger than the one who had
milk.
2) The suspect who ordered chicken is at least 12 years older
than the one who had stir fry.
3) The suspect who had steak for lunch, who is not from Everett
or Kent, is 8 years younger than the one who had fried rice, who
is not from Everett.
4) The water drinker was not the youngest.
5) The oldest suspect had cola with his lunch.

Who Murdered Travis Cox? Pt. 5
Private Trent Spriggs has tied together all his clues and come up with Travis Cox's murderer. Based on eye-witness accounts of behavior and whereabouts of the five suspects, he previously eliminated the one carrying the brown attache (Part 1), Wednesday's presenter (Part 2), the Queen Anne district salesman (Part 3), and the man from Bellevue (Part 4). Spriggs was able to give the police the full name of the suspect, who confessed to murdering Travis Cox and why. Given these clues, discover who the murderer is, and read the solution to discover his motive.
1) The salesman from Seattle was promoted to manager.
Cobb covers the Queen Anne district. The one who read the
Downtown Gazette arrived by taxi.
2) Lathrop did not come by Metro Bus. Cobb did not carry the
burgundy briefcase. Treadwell received the Best Salesman award.
The award presented in the auditorium went to the salesman who
had a cola with his lunch.
3) The 20-year-old walked to the hotel. Lathrop received his
award in the Atrium. Monday's presenter is from Kent.
4) Alan is not surnamed Barnett. The one who came by Metro Bus
wore a black trench coat. The Ajax Tool representative is 33
years old.
5) Holtz is not from Auburn. The salesman who won Rookie of the
Year had tea with his lunch. The one who presented on Tuesday
carried a brown attache.
