Aug 19 2009- I improve Sector Z for the first time in months!

Aug 17 2009- I get a new score on Corneria, but don't manage to gain a position.
Aug 15 2009- I take a crack at Macbeth and somehow manage to get a new WR of 389!
Aug 13 2009- I break 700 on Area 6 and tie the Meteo WR, while Andy Weiß makes awesome improvements on Sector X and Corneria. Also, I have made the decision to suspend some of Marcel Schalhorst's scores for the time being, until he can adequately prove them and/or provide an explanation.
Aug 08 2009- Andy Weiß submits some new scores to fill in some missing spots on Titania, Sector Y, Katina, Aquas, Zoness, and Sector Z.
ATTENTION!!!: Steven Zwartjes advises that PAL players can only get 511 as maximum score on a single mission. He says the score counter stops at 511. That's because 511=29 -1. It's rather common in computer programs to have similar limits of 2n -1.
ALSO: Click here if you have the NTSC version to read about a score glitch that occurs when you score 512 or more points in a single mission (only possible with some copies) and then finish the game with a total score high enough to add to your top ten Rankings. Learn how this glitch can affect you.
Thomas Potter and Andy Weiß have discovered some differences in the amount of enemies in Aquas and Meteo, respectively, in the Japanese version of the game. Meteo is missing 1 space moth (-4 points compared to the PAL and USA versions), while Aquas in Expert mode has an extra starfish and 2 extra blue cone enemies (possible total of +7 points compared to the PAL and USA versions). Despite these differences, the Japanese version is still counted as part of these rankings (since NTSC players can also get more points than PAL players on Area 6, Meteo, and Total Hits).
RULES: You can play in Expert Mode if you like. (Expert Mode is recommended for many missions, including Corneria) For individual mission scores to count you must complete the mission. However, for Total Hits scores it is not necessary to complete the game.
You are allowed to play on any version of the game for scores, barring emulation. This includes the Japanese version of the game (despite small differences in the amount of enemies) and the Virtual Console.
