1080 SNOWBOARDING Walkthrough Well here are my guides for achieving fast times for 1080 in Time Attack! STARTING OFF You should always hold Z while riding for it makes you go faster because you're in a tuck position. Try to ride in the straightest line possible so you don't lose any speed. Never go over bumps or get any air when possible for you lose a lot of speed. When going over a big jump let go of Z and then position your board that it is parallel to the ground then press and hold Z as you land. One last thing you need to know is how to do the fast start. When the announcer says "3-2-1 GO" as the 1 fades press and hold up on the analog stick just before GO is said. There is no need to tap up twice like most people think. Remember to hold Z straight away as well. Also you should save your ghost on the track you are time trialing on. WHICH RIDER & BOARD? Well for those that don't know, the Gold Boarder is the fastest rider and the Penguin Board is very good for time trials. The Tahoe 151 Board is ok to use as well. To get the Gold Boarder you must first win Match Race mode on the Expert level and top all the EAD scores in Trick Attack and Time Attack modes. Now on the player select screen hold C-Left while choosing Akari Hayami. You will have the ICE Boarder now. Use the ICE Boarder in Match Race on the Expert level. On the last round you will be racing the GOLD ICE man. Once you have beaten him you will then be able to select him on the player select screen by holding C-Up while choosing Kensuke Kimachi. Now for the Penguin Board you must beat all 24 tricks in the training mode. An easy way to do this is to go to the trick list, select a trick that is easy to do, perform that trick but before you land go back to the trick list and change it to a harder trick. When you land it will think that you have performed the harder trick. Now on the board select screen hold C-Down while choosing any board. You can also get the Panda Boarder by beating Time Attack, Contest and Trick Attack and top all the EAD scores then on the player select screen hold C-Right while choosing Rob Haywood. Well that's everything you need to know so on to the tracks. TRACK STRATEGIES CRYSTAL LAKE After your fast start head toward the right of the track and ride a bit along the stone wall. You need to stay as close to the wall as possible. When you reach the dip, as you go over keep on holding Z and then hold UP when you hit the snow. Now ride in the straightest line possible and head to the left just a bit. Now this corner takes practice. You want turn as close to the wall on the left as you can. You will get a tiny bit of air if done correctly. Now ride as straight as you can. You should only just miss the wall on your right so you can line your self up for the nasty bit. You have to ride as straight as possible through the nasty bit so you don't lose any speed. You will nearly hit both walls but it saves a lot of time. Now you will be heading for the jump down to the flat area. Stay to the left of the track so that when you go over the jump you are nearly hitting the wall. You will want to land on the very left of the track (on the raised bit) Now while in the air let go of Z and position your board so you're going to land with out losing any speed. Your rider should be facing the hut with the jump on when he lands so he is on a bit of an angle. Once you have landed turn right and go off the track a bit and line your self up for the jump on the hut. As you reach the hut do the smallest jump you can (tap A once very quickly) so that you don't land on the hut but clear the little raised bit just before it. Now hold down UP while going over the jump on the hut. You will lose a little speed but it is possible to stay above 100km with practice (This is the hardest bit to do!). Once you land from the jump ride straight to the path in front and turn left over the raised bit so you are now on the raised middle section of the track. Just keep on riding straight and let go of Z then press it again when landing the fall from the middle section. From here on is easy just ride in between the two jumps then head for the gate on the right. Stay close to the jumps on the left of you then ride between the to last jumps before the finish line. Remember to ride as strait as possible when doing so. When done perfectly it is possible to break 1'03"00. Walkthrough by Ben Miller
