Chicken is Chickalicious
January 24, 11:32 PM I'd like to take this space to recognize that a great man, Johnny Carson, passed away yesterday night at the age of 79. He was truly a legend and will be missed. This weekend was pretty good. Saturday I worked outside with my dad clearing snow, and Sunday I spent all day with Mandie. Also happening last night was a little bit of unwelcome excitement on the road coming back from Mandies. I hit a pothole on the road which threw my car into a snowbank. I was able to pull myself out of it due to the car's studded tires and monsterous 140 HP engine. I did notice that my Battery and ABS warning lights came on, so I dropped it off at the garage. Today I found out that there was NO DAMAGE to the car at all, it just needed thawed out. Incredible. Today I slept through my communications class. Oh well. This week is going to probably gonna be the average week. I love you babe, See you on the flip side. Victories like this go only to the best January 20, 10:44 PM Classes are going okay for me so far. I have a big group project coming up in one of my psychology classes where I have to observe little kids, so that should be fun. I hate group projects. Other than that, not much going on around here. I did have a short political disscussion with my roommate and one of his friends last night, but it only lasted long enough for us to say who we voted for. I'll probably be coming home this weekend, I have no real reason to stay here this time. Theres a psychology club starting up on campus so I'll look into that too. Later. You can't prove you aren't guilty, so you must be guilty. January 13, 5:22 AM Another long, lovely night. I am up to my eyeballs in reading but this sure beats last semesters hell of math, physics and chem. Now I will, as promised, describe the history class I'm in. It is taught by a sweedish immigrant I, fortunately, can understand really well. Unfortunately this seems to be a run of the mill history class with emphasis on gender roles. I give the course 2 out of 5 meatwads. ![]() ![]() Now I enjoy talking about the sexes. Gender roles, attraction, and the mental differences between men and women facinate me. But I have no interest in learning how the imperialistic advances by Britain on India affected the way indian women dressed. I just don't care. I would have rather learned about ancient England or France, the Roman conquests, the Greek conquests, the Mongol conquests, the Byzantine defense against the Arab onslaught, the Sengoku Jidai, anything like that. No, instead I learn that indian women used to not like blouses. JESUS. Until next time, gamers. Ready for Action January 10, 2005, 9:50 PM I'm back at college now, and I'm all set up for a really decent, possibly even fun semester. Heres the breakdown: Psych 243 and 213: I have these with the same professor. She seems a little bit out there, but I think it'll be okay. We need to do a group project eventually in 243, and there is nothing I loathe more than group projects. Phil 10: This is a logic class. The prof, who commutes from pittsburgh, said that it will take us about 8 weeks to truly learn what a valid argument is. I wonder if he has one for why the hell he drives so far every day. Comm 100: This is a communications class about the mass media. I met someone there in the class who often works with my dad and even my uncle on occasion, and he said he recognized my name, so we worked together for our first assignment which was getting to know someone you didn't know before coming to class. The prof is the typical big city refugee that hates any town that doesnt have a mall and a starbucks and a fashion boutique on every Goddamn corner. Hist 011: Didn't have this one yet. I'll let you know about it later. Moving back into the appartment was quick and painless, and I was very happy to see that no pipes exploded. But something seems to be wrong with my door, it doesn't shut as tight as it used to for some reason. Hm. Until next time gamers... |
