ABOUT AMY
|
Amy is in her second year working for the
Navy at Port Hueneme as a Biologist. Although
she lives in Ventura, most of her time is spent
visiting Matt in Glendora or traveling for business
or to visit friends and family.

ABOUT MATTHEW
|
|
Matt will graduate from Cal Poly with a
degree in Biology less than two weeks before our wedding. Between 19 unit
quarters, work, and trying to keep up with Amy's wedding planning he is a
very busy guy right now.

HOW WE MET
|
|
We met at Pasadena First Church of the
Nazarene during the summer of 1997. Although we spent time together at church
functions, we didn't really get to know each other until the following spring
when Amy moved into an apartment near Matt's house in Glendora. We began
jogging together and hanging out with the same group of friends. At the end
of the summer Matt asked Amy out on our first real date. It was a party
hosted by ITS at the Hollywood Bowl. As
a couple we have many shared interests. We have wonderful adventures together
snowboarding and hiking. Of course we also enjoy time to just relax and be
together on the rare occasions when we get that opportunity.

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED

HOW IT HAPPENED
|
|
Matt took Amy to dinner at the Las Brisas
restaurant in Laguna Beach. After a relaxed meal we took a walk around the
town. Matt timed it perfectly so that we ended up on the rocks at the end of
the beach just as the sun was setting. As we watched the sunset, Matt pulled
the ring from his pocket and asked Amy to marry him. She said yes. Then he
remembered he had intended to kneel down. So Matt knelt on the rock, asked
Amy to marry him again, and again she said yes.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BIG DAY
|
|
The ceremony will be outside, and the
weather on the coast is often cool in June. So for those of you traveling
from Ridgecrest or the San Gabriel Valley, please remember to bring a
sweater.
