What's new at amateur station N2UHC
October 4, 2006

Welcome to my blog.  I hope to keep updating information to let everyone know what's happening here at my QTH.

My 10 meter beacon was recently operating on 28.223 instead of its normal frequency of 28.233 MHZ.  After looking the transmitter over I determined that the problem was with the CB's channel selector switch.  I removed it, cleaned it, and reinstalled it, after which it worked fine... for a while, then it went screwy again and went back to transmitting on 28.223.  I took the beacon apart again and removed the switch, then hardwired the connections on the PC board that the switch provided to get the current channel.  The end result is that I can do without the switch and don't have to worry about it changing frequencies again.  The beacon is currently back operating on its normal frequency of 28.233.

Any and all reception reports of my beacon are welcomed, however 10 meter propagation has been really bad lately.  I have only heard one or two beacons the past week or so.  I can't wait for propagation conditions to improve the next few years so my beacon will be more widely heard.
