The Final Day

Kaitlyn was walking along the beach. She was watching the Sunset. Then, she heard a gunshot. She turns, then falls. She had been shot. She holds her arm, running back to the village. She is a Summoner, born and raised in Latica.

"Hurry Kaitlyn!"

She turns her head, but she is still running. She slows down, it was Haku, her guardian.

"Keep on running, don't mind me!" he yells.

She hears another shot. This time Haku was shot. He was shot in the leg. She sees her other friends running towards Haku. her friends are Dallas, Lee and Sakeva.

"We got Haku, keep on running, your close to the village!" says Lee.

"Ok!" Kaitlyn answers.

She is close to the village now. She would be lucky to not run into a phoenix. She turns on the corner and by the gate, there was a phoenix! She screams. Then arrows take down the bird. She turns to see who it is, then, she felt this pain in her back. She has been shot with an arrow. She falls down to her knees then her face. Everything was going black, then, she heard voices.

"Is she one?"

"By the look of her clothes, yeah"

"We found a summoner!"

"All right, bring her back to the temple before anyone sees us."

"Hurry! back to Vajj! I hear voices!"

She opens her eyes. She is not at home. She gets up.

"Ow!" she said in pain. Her back and her arm hurts a lot. She gets up in pain, walking toward the mirror. Her back and arm were bandaged up.

"I thought this was a nightmare, not for real!" She thought to herself. She looks down at a chair, there was a pair of clothes. She looks at her back in the mirror. It was stained with blood. She takes off her clothes, picks up the other pair of clothes and changes into them. They were summoner�s clothes. She turns around and screams.

Then, she heard the door open. She turns. It was a boy about her age. She was kind of scared.

"Don't be alarmed." he said in a gentle voice.

His voice was soothing. She was calm now.

"I see you changed into those clothe on the chair."

"Oh, sorry." she said.

"That's ok, they were for you anyways. So......what�s your name?"

"Kaitlyn, Yours?"

"Kam" he answers.

"Where am I? I want to go home."

"You are at the Vajj Temple, and no you can't go home, you might never go home, I am sorry."

Kam kind of sounded sad, but why? Kaitlyn thought to herself.

"Why are you sounding sad?" she blurts out.

"Nothing........are you hungry?"

"Ya, a little, I guess."

"Great! We are having a feast downstairs. I will bring you there." he smiles. She smiled back.

They walk out of the door towards the stairs. Right before the stairs, he turns.

"Hold on...........something's not right. I can sense it."

Kaitlyn listens carefully. There was screams, a lot of screams. "Something's down there. Come on, let's help."

"No." He grabs her arm. "It's expecting you."

"Why? Who is it?" she asks wanting to help the people down there.

"It wants to kill you. It is a mighty Phoenix. It works for the machine, Kanita. It is why we brought you here. To destroy it once and for all.........you might not make it out alive......but I will be with you all the way until the end."

"Might not come back......" She falls to her knees holding her face. She is crying.

"Please, don't cry........I will be with you. Remember that, in your heart."

She stopped crying a little. She gets up, still with tears in her eyes. She wipes them. "Your right. I will help. Who do I do to help?"

"Your helping all of the world. It is destroying towns, villages and cities one by one."

"Who made this Kanita?"

"No one knows how. There was this rumor though, 'It was made by the mind of this person, named Lee, he wanted it to make people understand that fighting is worthless, kill yourselves if you want to fight, it is like losing your family from death of old age, but you die in a slow death full of pain.' People say if you get close to Kanita, you die a slow painful death, just like Lee said."

"Hold on! I know someone named Lee! He is one of my guardians!"

"Bring him here then."

"I can't go home, remember?"

"We need him right away. I have to question anyone by the name of Lee, they have to be a boy of course. We will go to this village of yours, we go at night."

"So you are going to kidnap him in a way?"

"Yes, in a way."

"What of he was this Lee you were talking about? Then What?"

"Then I kill him."

She gasped. "No!!! You are not killing him, even if he is this Lee. He is my guardian! And a friend, I am not losing anymore friends to death!!!!" She tries running. Kam grabs her arm.

"Don't! LET GO OF ME!!!!!" she yells while hitting his arm.

"Please listen to me!"

"No!"

"The only way for Kanita is to die is either finding this Lee and kill him or destroy Kanita! I lost my family to this machine."

"I'm sorry for your family."

"Kanita is hard to destroy, many other summoner's lost there lives to this machine, I want it gone forever. If Lee is the one, he and your other friends must help us destroy Kanita, even if it kills one, two or three of us, we will fight until it is dead!"

"Ok, I understand. I lost some of my family to it to..... I am ready."

He smiles."Thanks" he nods.

She still heard those screams downstairs, then it went quiet. "Are.....are they dead?"

"I don't know. Lets get out of here, they know your still in here. Come on." He follows him down the hallway.

"Are you still hungry?"

Kaitlyn nods.

He grabs her hand and starts running down the hallway. They both look back. Then he pushed her into a room and put his hand over her mouth.

"Be quiet" he whispered, "It is up here."

She nods. "What kind of phoenix is it?"

He peered out the door, the phoenix is looking right at him!

"Your still hungry?"

"Yeah" and she nods.

"We have to go now!" He grabs a sack and opens a door. There were stairs. "Go down there now!" He shut the door and tried jamming it with his sword. Kaitlyn reaches outside. She waits for Kam. Then, he came out running, once again, he grabs her hand, squeezing it harder this time. They run in the forest. They get to this den like place. The entrance was covered with big leaves. They both jump into it. Now, they are safe from the phoenix finding them. "Here." Kam throws her the sack. "There is food in it."

She caught it in mid-air. "Thanks." She grinned. Kam smiled back. "So, how old are you?"

"17, you?"

"Me to, 17."

"So we are going to your village pretty soon, but you need to eat."

She was full after eating the food. When she was about to get up, they hear powerful wing beats. "So, what kind of phoenix was it?" Kaitlyn whispered.

"It was a dark phoenix." he whispered.

She gasped. "What's wrong?" he whispered.

"Nothing."

The wing beats are leaving.

"You know, this might be the last you ever go home again. I am sorry, you might die during battle or after battle."

"No!" Tears were forming in her eyes, she got up and was about to run then he grabbed her wrist.

"But it is ok. You will go to the Farplane, and rest, You your friend, me. Even if it kills all of us. Doesn't matter, people will honor us and our names. I don't want anyone else to die from it."

"Me to. Our friends, family have been dieing from it for over 2000 years. Summoner failed in the past, but you will make a difference in the world." "Let's get going now."

"Ok" Kaitlyn says.

"Here, wear this in your hair." he hands her an elastic, "Don't want people to recognize you."

They walked for about two hours, until they got to the gate. They walk in the gate. Kaitlyn looks around remembering everything. Then, she saw Lee.

"There he is!" she said, pointing in the direction where Lee was. He had his back to the forest. They run into the forest, quietly, Kam walks right behind him, waiting for no one in sight. He reaches his hands out then covers his mouth and grabs him into the bushes. He was struggling.

"Lee, I am sorry." Lee calmed down from hearing her voice.

"Kaitlyn?"

"Yes, it is me, with my hair up."

"I hardly recognized you."

"I know." Kam said.

"Who's this?" Lee asked.

"Oh, this is Kam. He is going to help me in battle with Kanita."

"KANITA!!!!" Lee yells.

"Yes Kanita. First, Kam has to ask you some questions."

"Ok."

"Follow me Lee." says Kam.

They walk far away from Kaitlyn, she sit on the ground, waiting. She fell asleep on the ground.

"Wake up Kaitlyn." It was Kam.

"Huh?"

"Come with me."

They don't walk far from Lee. He turns his back facing Lee.

"I know he is the Lee from 2000 years ago, but I don't know how he could survive that long. I asked him 'Where are you from' he answered 'I'm from Markila' the same place where Lee was from. So, would you want me to kill him now, or risk you and your friends lives trying to defeat Kanita. So which one?" "Defeating Kanita, I know what I am doing."

"Your pick, now no turning back."

"I know."

"Now let's go to a Inn."

"The Phoenix Inn!" says Lee.

"All right."

They walk to the inn. Lee paid the debt for staying in the Phoenix Inn. They go to the room where they were assigned to. Kaitlyn got the bed. Lee and Kam were sleeping on the floor. She went to bed fast.

(Her dream)

She saw Kanita.......and her friends, Kam, Sakeva, Dallas and the Legendary Summoner, Lady Rika.

"Come on!" It was Lee and Kam, with their swords.

"Hurry up Kaitlyn! Gotta do the 'Death of the Summoner' right away."

"It takes 10 minutes. You sure?"

"We'll buy you some time. Hurry!"

She nods. She takes three steps forward. Brings her hands up in the air, while holding her staff in both hands, and closes her eyes. She stays like that for a minute. She opens her eyes, brings her right arm down while holding the staff in her right hand.

She sees Kanita attack Kam.

"No." she thought to her self, looking at Kam, he was lying on the ground, almost ready to die. Kaitlyn throws down her staff and runs towards him. What am I doing, I have to finish the dance. Before she knew it, she was kneeling beside Kam. "KAM!" Tears were forming in her eyes. Kanita was getting ready to attack again. This time, at her! It attacked, but then, Lady Rika jumped in front of her. She got hit by the attack. "W-What are you doing" Kaitlyn asks Lady Rika. Before Lady Rika could answer, she disappeared. Then Kam disappeared. They both died. "KAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!"

She woke up saying Kam. She was breathing heavily.

"You all right?"

She turned her head, it was Kam.

"I'm right here you know, are you all right" he said looking at her.

"I'll live, it was a nightmare."

"Why did you yell out my name?"

"I did?"

"Yeah, right before you woke up."

"Oh..........sorry 'bout that."

"That's all right, now let's get going, you have to eat then we leave. Wake up Lee, he sleeps like a baby."

"I know." she walks over to Lee. "Wake up," she whispered shaking him. "Lee, wake up, we're leaving"

"W-What?" He sat up looking around.

"We are leaving, come on, we have to go and eat."

"Ok." he gets up.

"Come on" said Kam, he was leaving the room. Lee and Kaitlyn follow. They left the inn and Kam said "Where are your other friends Kaitlyn? They are coming with us."

"I don't know." Then, she caught eyes with Dallas. "Dallas!" She yelled. Dallas looked up.

"Kaitlyn? Where are you?"

"Over here" she said waving. Dallas runs over to her.

"Who's this guy?"

"Oh, that is Kam."

"Kam?"

"Where are the others?" Kaitlyn asks.

"Who?"

"Sakeva, Cody, Lihen and Kori?" She asked Dallas.

"They are at the beach sitting down. They are worried 'bout you. You know, when you took off like that without a word."

"I got taken to Vajj Temple, no harm done."

"How's your arm?" Dallas asks.

"Oh." she looks down at her arm. "It is ok."

"Let's go get the others." said Kam walking towards the beach.

"Ok" nods the others. They start walking towards the beach. They seen the others sitting down, looking at the ocean.

"Sakeva! Cody! Lihen! Kori!" yells Kaitlyn. Kori looked up. She had a smile across her face. Then Lihen looks up. Looks like he had a bad day. Then a smile formed on his face. Cody, Sakeva and Kori all run towards Kaitlyn. Lihen walks over to her.

"Kaitlyn, where were you?!" asks Kori and Sakeva.

"And who's this guy?" asks Lihen.

"I was at the Vajj Temple, and this is Kam." She was so happy to see her friends.

"Come on, we have to go." Said Kam.

"Where?"asks Cody.

"Back to Vajj Temple, we have to get ready."

"For what?" asks Lihen.

"To defeat Kanita."

"Kanita!" said Sakeva and Kori at the same time.

"Yes Kanita" said Kaitlyn. "To destroy it once and for all."

"Ok, when do we leave?" asks Lihen and Kori.

"Right now." said Lee.

"Ok........"

"Come on now." Said Lee.

They walk on the path to Vajj. They were quiet until they saw the Dark Phoenix again.

"Oh no." said Kaitlyn. "It's back."

"What? What's back?" asks Kori confused.

"A Dark Phoenix!" yelled Sakeva. Before she was going to scream, Kaitlyn cover her mouth with her hands.

"Come on" whispered Kam, turning right to go into the forest. It was not far from the place where Kam and Kaitlyn hid before. They all run into the hiding place.

Then, Kaitlyn remembered Haku.

"Where's Haku?" she whispered. "and Dalee?"

"Haku has a broken bone, his femur. So he can't walk. Dalee, I don't know................... But he is to young to die, he is only 12." answers Lee. "But he is one of the great archers." said Kori.

"I know" said Sakeva "He is really great."

"If you want, you can go get him yourself, If he is so great." Kam whispered.

"Fine, I will." answered Sakeva.

"Wait!" everyone looks at Cody. "My pet lives around here."

"You don't have a pet" said Kori.

"Yes I do." He whistled. then, a Great Cat came.

"A Great Cat! How did you get one? What's it's name? You can't train a Great Cat, they kill us humans." said Kori.

"How did I get one? I found it when it was a kitten. His name? Hmmm.......His name is Helen, and I trained it to like humans as a friend."

"Helen? What kind of name is that? And why don't I know this? I am your Sister here." said Kori.

"I know, I kept it secret. You know how the village is, they will kill him on site" said Cody, while scratching the cat behind the ear. "Besides, he is my friend."

"Friend?" said Kori confused.

"Yes, my FRIEND!" he yelled "Ooops, my bad."

"You dumb head, you yelled." said Kori slapping him behind the head. Then they all saw the outline of Phoenix.

"RUN KAITLYN!!!!!!!!!" yelled Kam. He pointed behind him while drawing out his sword. "Hurry!"

She turns and runs to the back of the hiding place. She looks back, Sakeva, drawing her bow and arrow, Kori, drawing out her guns and Cody, draws out his Swords and Dallas draws out his long sword. Then Lee steps in front before them before they attack. Then he grins. The Phoenix was inside the hiding place. The phoenix passes Lee.

"Now, Dark Phoenix, ATTACK!!!" yelled Lee still grinning.

"Halen, go and find Kaitlyn, and protect her." said Cody.

Then, Halen started running in the direction where Kaitlyn went. Then, Halen froze, just stood there. Lee cast a spell on the Great Cat not to move. "I must kill her." said Lee.

"Noooo!!!!!!!!" yelled Kam, while every one was blocked by the Phoenix. "You set us up."

"Yeah, it was so easy." said Lee, turning around in the direction of Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was still running. "I wonder if they are ok." she thought while still running. Then, she was shot with an arrow. She turns around, it was Lee.

"Lee" she whispered. "Why?"

"I don't want you to destroy me."

She was feeling drowsy, after losing to much blood all ready. She fell into a hole that you can't see. She landed on something soft.

"WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!" Lee yelled out loud.

Kaitlyn herd his voice. She turned her head to see what she landed on. She gasped. The Great Cat turned his head in her direction. She sat up ready to run. It tried to bite her but failed. She jumped of its back. This place is full of Phoenix's and Great Cats and......and..........the Legendary Serpents!!!!!!!!!! She thought. She looked around on the ground, then she saw a bow and a lot of arrows. She picked up the bow and three arrows, She held the arrows in her right hand and the bow in the left. She then, positioned the arrows, held the string, pulled it back, and shot the closest monsters. She five, with three arrows. She tried it again and again, until there was only one left, it was a Great Cat, the biggest one she ever saw, it was in flames, which meant it uses flames for every attack.

Then the cat spoke. "You done well, I am surprised." She gasped.

"Y-You just talked?!" she said, ready to attack just in case if it attacked. "Yes, I did talk. Don't you recognize my voice?"

"N-No" she said confused. She thought for a while. "M-Mom?"

"Yes Kaitlyn, it is me. When I had died, I chosen to live in Sayta, not to go to the Farplane, and never see you again.

"But I could see you."

"It is only if you live after your fight with Kanita."

"How did you know I was fighting Kanita?"

"I followed you where ever you go, to make sure your safe. Your friends are here to, to protect you as well as I'm doing. You're a great archer, just like your cousin Dalee, it runs in the family."

Then Lee came in the hole, "There you are." he said looking right at her. Then, he stabbed her mom.

"MOOOMMMM!!!" she turned to her mom with tears in her eyes. She tore a piece of her dress and put it on the cut in her mom's side.

"Kaitlyn lookout!" said her mom, Katrina.

Kaitlyn turned her head and saw that Lee, had a claw strapped to his arm. He put his hand in the air ready to attack her, while he was still running. He attacks, but then she jumps out of the way, it only cut her stomach a little. When she lands, she was holding her stomach, as well her bow and arrows. She gets into the ready position. She drew back the string with three arrows. She let go of the arrows shooting Lee in the stomach.

"Ugh." he said slowing down. He put his hand on his stomach then lifted it up to his face, his hand was dripping with blood. He fell to the ground. Then, Kaitlyn passed him, not even looking down. She walks over to her mom.

"You gonna be all right?"

"If your all right, I'm all right."

"Ok."

"Come on my back."

"But your wound?" she asked, looking at the cut in her side.

"It's ok."

"If you say so" she said hopping on to her back. "You sure your all right?"

"Yes, I told you, stop worrying."

Kaitlyn nods her head. "All right"

Her mom jumped up and out of the hole. She looked back.

She saw Lee still lying there, on his stomach. She felt sorry, killing one of her guardians.

Her mom saw her. "You had to do that, otherwise, you would have died." "I know."

Then, they saw the others. They saw everyone on the ground, except for Kori and Cody. Cody was blocking the Dark Flames from hitting him or his sister, while Kori was shooting the Phoenix.

"I'm out of Ammo!" she yelled.

Then, Kaitlyn revives her friends. They are all on there feet now. Then, she takes out her bow and arrows. She draws the string back, lets go of the arrows. It shoot the Phoenix. The Phoenix fell to the ground.

"I have failed you my lord, please forgive me Kanita" then it disappeared. "I knew it was working for Kanita." said Kam. He looks at Kaitlyn, "Good Job" he said while nodding his head.

"Thanks," she said looking at everyone and smiling.

Then, Kori looked confused, "I-It just talked."

"It was a human, working for Kanita. He stayed on Sayta to help Kanita. So did Lee. What happened to him anyway?" Kam said looking in the direction of Kaitlyn.

"I killed him."

Then Kam looked at her back and stomach. "Are you all right?"

She forgot about the arrow in her back and the cut on her stomach. "Oh Yeah, I forgot about them." She looked down at her stomach. It was bleeding. Then, she put her hand on her back, reaching for the arrow. She pulled it out. "Ugh." She threw it to the ground.

Kori and Sakeva gasped. Dallas and Cody were disgusted.

"That arrow was poisoned. It has got into my blood." Then she fell down. "Kaitlyn!" They all yelled at the same time.

"We have to get her to a doctor, Right Away!" yelled Cody.

"She has been poisoned!" yelled Kori.

"Halen, come on!" Cody put her on Halen's back. Then he jumped on. "I'm taking her to Kale Village, that is where the only doctor is. You guys start walking there, I'll meet you there." he said riding on Halen's back out of the hiding place. Then they were gone. Kam looked back at the Great Cat that got Kaitlyn to them.

"Who are you?" he asked Katrina.

"My name is Lady Katrina, mother of Kaitlyn. I am one of the Great Summoner's, and so my daughter will be as I have been."

Then, everyone bowed. "Lady Katrina, it our honor to meet the Lady Katrina" they all said except for Kam.

The Great Cat bowed her head "Now lets get going to Kale Village." "Right" said Sakeva.

"Yeah, lets go see how Kaitlyn is doing. They all started walking to Kale Village.

"Hurry Halen, we don't have much time." he said looking at Kaitlyn. Her breathing was slowing down. They were close to the village. They didn't care what people were thinking of the Great Cat coming into the village. They got to the place where the doctor stayed. He jumped of Halen, picked up Katrina and ran to the place. "Hurry! I need a doctor, she has been poisoned with an arrow! Please!" he yelled.

The doctor came running out. "How long has she been poisoned?" She asked. It was Dr. Orelt.

"For about 2 hours." he said.

"Come bring her in, we have to inject some medicine in her right away!" she said, turning into a room.

He set her on top of the table."May I ask you to leave?" Dr. Orelt asked him. "Ok," he nodded his head. It usually takes about 5 hours to get to Kale Village. But with Halen it took 1 and a half hours. He will have to wait for about 3 more hours till the others get here. Then He fell asleep.

(The Others)

They all walk on the path to Kale Village. "It will take us about 5 hours to get there." Katrina said.

"How long has Kaitlyn been a Summoner?" asked Dallas.

"Since she was 12." Katrina answered.

"12? That is a long time, and, she became a Summoner. Did she ever get any Aeons?" asked Sakeva.

"Yes she has."

"How many?" asked Kam.

"3. For now, she wants to get all the Aeons as possible."

"What are the names of the 3 Aeons?" asked Sakeva.

"The first one she got was Niyla of the Night. Second, was Jumika of the Flames. Her last one she got Ilyn of the Day."

"How did she get them?" asked Kam.

"She had to fight it until it was really weak, then she captures it, revives them. Now, they are here friends."

"How old was she when she got her first Aeon?" asked Kori.

"She captured Niyla 4 months after she became a Summoner. They both were pretty weak, even when she was so young. She wanted to get a Aeon right away, she couldn't wait. She was sleeping for about 3 days, catching up her strength." Katrina was laughing. "You should of seen when she final woke up, her hair was all messy. The first thing she said was 'Where is Niyla', she didn't even ask for food."

"Oh yeah! I remember that!" said Sakeva while laughing.

"That was so funny!" said Dallas, laughing with Kori and Sakeva. Kam was looking confused, but then started laughing with the others. They were at Kaitlyn's home village, Latica.

"Kori, Sakeva" they both look at Kam, "Your going to get Dalee?"

"Ok" said Sakeva and Kori, both running to the village.

"Hurry though!" he yelled. Sakeva and Kori run faster.

Kam, Dallas and Katrina waited for about 2 minutes. Kori and Sakeva come back with Dalee. "Here he is, one of the top five archers in Latica." Kori said.

"Nice to meet you people." said Dalee, doing the traditional bow. The others bow back.

"Nice to see you again Dalee." said Katrina.

"Auntie? That's you?!"

"Yes Dalee, I see you remember me."

"Yes Lady Katrina," he said bowing.

"Pease Dalee, call me Katrina."

"Yes my Lady."

They all start walking to Kale Village. "Hey! I know a short cut!" said Dalee. Every one looked at hi confused." Just walk on this trail, it only take an hour to get to Kale Village, instead of walking for 5 more hours."

"What a relief!" said Kori.

"Come on then!" said Sakeva.

"Wait! One caution before we enter, Be On Guard At All Times." They all draw out there weapons.

"Let's Go." said Dallas. They walk in, looking at every direction.

(Back at Kale Village)

Cody wakes up. Dr. Orelt walks over to him.

"You can see her now."

Cody nods his head. He walks into the room where Kaitlyn was lying. "You ok?" he asked her.

She opened her eyes. "Yes. Just tired."

"Glad to know."

She smiled. Then, Dr. Orelt came in.

"She is going to be able to come back with you tomorrow. If you came here just now, she would have died, but now, she needs to rest."

"Ok." said Cody.
