Deathly Love

Andrew L.

Chapter 1

Liana was sitting at home waiting. Waiting for the boy she loved to come save her. She was stuck babysitting her little brother again and he had promised to come. So she had changed twice in preparation for him. Her stupid brother, Danny, was upstairs reading. The sun began to sink in the horizon.

She thought about Aaron as the sun cast a pink glow over the clouds. How when shed met him it had been pouring out. He had shown up at the mall in a jacket with a hood that covered his face almost completely. He wore gloves because he had circulatory problems. She remembered how his hair had shined, golden and wavy, in the light. His skin had been so soft but so pale.

The doorbell rang. Aaron waved through the window. His body was beautifully outlined in the soft light from the street lamp. The clouds above his head slowly shift color to a darker pink.

As she walked to the door she remembered the day she knew she loved him. They had gone on a double date with her best friend, Tiffany, and her boyfriend, Jared. Aaron had shown up at her house on foot right as the sun had gone down. When he and Tiffany were introduced they had hit it off quickly and Liana had simmered with anger and jealousy all night. But she had been reassured by his soft, sweet, sensual goodnight kiss. His lips had been so red and full with blood.

She opened the door and he stood there, real as ever. She pulled him inside and onto the couch. They kissed passionately as the colors through the window grew deeper and darker. He finally pushed her off and spoke. His voice was low and exotic. Beautifully tinted with a French accent.

Liana, do you love me? He stopped her before she could say anything. Do you love me with your heart and soul? Would you be with me always?

A wave of pleasure swept over her. What was he asking? To him she replied, Yes, I do. I would love you forever if I could. At once she knew she meant it.

Would you give up everything for me? His voice became more erotic. Yes, she answered, looking deep into his eyes.

Ive waited so long for someone like you. You cant even know. He smiled but this smile was different. His teeth seemed longer, sharper somehow. But you will soon.

The sun sank lower as they began kissing. She had watched the sunsets all her life. Each one was beautiful to her. The colors shifted again as he moved his kisses down to her neck. She knew the next color so well, but what was it?

She felt a pain in her neck like two pins being pushed into her. She knew she was bleeding into Aarons mouth but somehow it felt good. Pain was quickly exchanged with pleasure as the color grew in strength. It was not just in her eyes, but in her mind as well.

And as he pressed his cut to her mouth and urged her to drink for her life, she remembered the colors name. It was red.
