Trading Guidelines!

I'm looking to expand my collection of shows in shn, flac, ape, CD/CDR formats.  I NO LONGER trade for RUSH bootlegs (they are too readily available).  I don't want converted mp3 files, and neither should you.  mp3 compression ruins the quality of the music.  When ripping from CDs I use Exact Audio Copy, and so should you if you want to preserve everything from the original source.  Original shn, flac, ape files are preferred.  I like to share my files on Direct Connect or several bittorrent sites, and it gets confusing for traders when there are multiple versions of the same recording.  If you live outside of the US or Canada please let me know before we set up a trade.  If you don't have anything to trade, I'll do B&Ps (http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/) if I have the time.  Please contact me, and I'll pass on some of the tips that others have passed on to me over the time.  There are plenty of sources to start your collection.  I will try to respond to all trade offers, but sometimes reality kicks in, and I must do other things that keep me away from the computer.  It may take a few days, but you will hear back from me.  Always record DAO. I hate the 2 second gaps that ruin the flow of a live recording.  Only use high quality CD's (Taiyo Yuden, FUJI (made in JAPAN)).  Your taking a chance at losing your collection by using low quality CD's.  RUSH artwork can all be down-loaded from The Digital Rush Experience .  I upload the rest of the artwork that I have on hand to: http://artwork.easytree.org/.  I will make things right if something does go screwy.  However, PLEASE NOTE that the nature of these recordings, and the entire trading culture itself, sometimes results in shows that are not up to the same standards you would get from a professionally produced show.  There may be slight gaps, hiccups, between songs, bad indexing, etc..   On all my trades, I will  check for gaps between songs (one of the most common ROIO glitches) and fix them when possible.   I can't fix bad transitions, tracking etc., as they usually result from the master.  If the show is one that someone has copied straight from tape, please keep in mind that many of these have had no editing done at all, and often times the transitions between tracks can be a little off.  I don't send jewel cases (they add to postage and will quite possibly break).  Most of this is standard in the trading community.  Remember, this is my hobby and is meant to be fun.  When it becomes a job (I already have one of those which I HATE!), it will no longer be fun, thus, I will stop.

I SELL NOTHING AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!  KEEP THE MUSIC FREE!
