| Davenport Hospitals Ambulance Corporation aka MEDIC Ambulance supplies contract paramedic level ambulance to the City of Davenport (north of US 61 in the southwest), City of Bettendorf (west of Devils Glen Road), Central North area of Scott County. It will when requested, back-up any other ambulance service in the county. | |||||||||||||||
| Currently units are based in Scott County at Genesis East & West Medical Centers, Eldridge Ambulance Facility.& the newest location in LeClaire. Also MEDIC 13 & 14 are based at Mercy in Clinton. | |||||||||||||||
| Medic is self-dispatched, When a medical call comes into either Davenport or Bettendorf 911. The call is transferred to Medic at their Headquarters at the Genesis East Medical Center. Since May of 1999 they are on the Racom EDACS 800 Mhz trunked radio system. They also have a avl (automatic vehicle locating system) to display the location of all medic units and are able to dispatch the closest unit to medical calls. | |||||||||||||||
| As of August 99. Medic is dispatching Illini Ambulance via the Racom EDACS system. The service is also using the AVL for positioning. | |||||||||||||||

| Aircare
The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics has two small Helicopters. One based in Iowa City and the other at Covenant Hospital in Waterloo. They can also use any public safety frequency in the 138-174 Mhz range. or the 463/468 med channels. At left are the most recent ones Aircare has used in this area. The helicopters can access Nextel Analog's Motorola Trunked Radio System in the Quad-Cities, Iowa City & Des Moines. |

After Air EVAC pulled out of the area in May 2000. Local community leaders tried to get another service for the area. The new service was set up in Sept. The helicopter is a BELL 222 that is based at a newly built base in the Colona-Green Rock area. |

Provided service within Davenport and surrounding area. After losing the Davenport EMS contract to MEDIC in the early 80's it tried to move to Muscatine. Went out of business soon after. |

Provided service to eastern Scott County for thirty six years. Area served by LAS was east of Z30 in Scott County and east of Devils Glen road in Bettendorf. Paged out by Scott County Sheriff . There was questions EMT crew availablity and it was suspended by the state after an incident regarding an extended response time for a fatal call. It was decided by the Ambulance board to shut down the service on 6/30/01 |
