再聞專欄作家說 the 這個字常不規則用在不同地方上，如南華早報、蘋果日報、時代雜誌。但是太中文化的比如 Tung Sing Yat Po 就不可以... 不知大家意下如何，我就覺得這是瞎睒，其實 the 有三種意義。

其一，表示事物的唯一，所以加上 the 字以再鑑別，例如我們的太陽叫做 The Sun，而宇宙其他星球的叫做 a sun 或者。其二，是特別提及時也用上 the 以茲分別，例如 the suns of these planets 亦可。最後是表示特別時，例如眾多男友中的真命天子也可叫 the boyfriends among all。  

以前 a-e-i-o-u 開頭的英文字，例如常見的 apple 和 orange，要讀 "dee" 再作分別。後來在會話英語裡，所有重要的物品都可以加 "dee" 的讀音了。例如以上的真命天子就以後喚作 "dee" boyfriends among all。至於上面的 Tung Sing Yat Po 在表示其唯一、重點、獨特也請繼續用 the，例如說 The Tung Sing Yat Po became the few famous newspaper for bringing English alive for a generation of raw un-English users. It's hooray for the Tung Yat for a prosperous use of English in Hong Kong today...
