This collaborative project will help increase appreciation in literature
for students in grades 4-8. Each week your class will read
a selection from the genres listed for the week. The students will
come up with a summary of the book chosen. The summary can be processed
using the AlphaSmart
keyboard.
This will allow you to preview, edit, download and publish the summaries
and discussions of the books.

format. The AlphaSmart catalog does offer a classroom
set of keyboards.
The State
of Delaware English/Language Arts Curriculum Framework
The assignments and discussions can be used in lieu of journal and
response writing. Student resources have been provided on Student
Resource page to help the students get information on book choices.
Teacher resources will help you select and formulate presentations of book
reviews.
