| Spiritual Me |
| Well, this is a recent update following a spiritual re-awakening. For the last 16 years I have considered myself agnostic. After a recent introduction to a Science of Mind church, I felt God within me again. The results above show my results on the Belief Sytem Selector. Science of Mind would probably be considered a "New Age" religion. I do have many beliefs similar to those of the Universalists and Neo-Pagans. I don't really see Humanism as a religion -- it' more a way of life. The Universalists actually have a high degree of diversity among their followers, but they are bound together by a liberal outlook on life and a committment to promote equality and ease suffering. I finally tried out the Unitarian church on campus, and was pleased at their acceptance and love for all people. Since my Science of Mind church only meets twice a month, I plan to attend there as well. The connection between the Universalists and the Neo-Pagans is that many followers have belief systems similar to that of the North American Indians, embracing a great reverence for nature and denying the existence of hell. At my Science of Mind church, I just attended a drumming in which we celebrated Native American religious ideas and spiritual rituals. All of these religions are supportive of of human differences (including altenative lifestyles) and generally work to promote equality, non-violence and the easing of human suffering. They also generally support environmental protection issues. |
