| 1. How do we contact Ocean State Acoustics? You can contact OSA by the Phone Number and E-mail on the Home Page. Please include your name, date of your event, a phone number, best time to call, and an e-mail address. If there is no e-mail address available, that is fine. 2. How Much does it cost to hire OSA? OSA has several all inclusive packages to meet your needs. We also offer the ability to customize an event to meet you specific requirements. Please contact us or see our Packages Page for any further questions. If the event runs over contract, arrangements can be made with the client to continue service if desired. 3. What do I need to know about Selecting a DJ? When speaking with the public, people state the most memorable aspect of any event is the entertainment. Whether it is a Wedding, Corporate Event, or a Private Party, the success or failure depends of the DJ you choose. The DJ drives the entertainment and the overall mood for people to celebrate! The Food, Photos, and Decor are very important, but the DJ makes the difference between leaving after the meal, or partying the night away! When planning an event, it is not uncommon to spend $7.00 per person for a fruit platter. Multiply that by 150 guests and you have just spent over $1000 on fruit! Are your guests going to remember the quality of the fruit, or the entertainment? 4. Can we see you perform at another event? Since a vast majority of events OSA DJ's are private, we cannot allow guests. However OSA is committed to giving back to the community and does DJ Charity events that are open to the public, usually at a minimal price of a ticket. We encourage you to help a good cause and come to these events. 5. How do you know what kind of music we want to hear? No Two events are the same. Before your event we will meet to plan your musical program. We take into acount who your guests are, age group, individual musical tastes, recent musical purchases, and more. All of these factors go into planning your event. 6. Do you take requests? With a large library of music and the ability to react quickly to a changing party environment, we can take requests at the discretion of the client. Since modern radio hits are usually most requested and may contain "offensive" material. OSA will use their discretion to stay away from certain songs unless authorized by the client. 7. Can you play music we provide on a CD? We have the ability to play a CD from our clients. For an additioal fee we can convert music from an LP (33 and 45 RPM Vinyl) and cassette to a CD or MP3 file as desired. 8. What time will you be arriving? What will the DJ wear? OSA likes to arrive 90 minutes before an event. During this time equipment is set up, a sound check is performed and the DJ changes into the proper attire for the event. The attire can range from a Hawaiian shirt and shorts, to a Tux, depending on the type of event. 9. Do you charge travel time? Travel is included within 50 miles of the Providence, RI metro area. Outside 50 miles one way (100 miles total) a rate of $0.50/mile will be added per Google Maps. Overnight accomodations may be required if the event its outside 150 miles. Special consideration may also apply if setup is required the evening before an event/ several hours prior. 10. Will you see the venue ahead of time? Absolutely. This allows OSA to assess the logistics of set-up/ teardown and assure there are no hitches at your event. In the event we cannot have a walk-through, we will contact the venue to discuss logistics. 11. Would you be willing to work with our other vendors? Absoultely! We are a part of a whole picture and all parts need to work together to assure a smooth event. 12. How do you control the volume at our event? We find this to be a very critical aspect of a DJ's responsibility. We would rather have to turn it up, than down. We are able to provide great sound with less volume and power, and put the sound where you want it... On the dance floor. |
