Objective:
This
study is designed to enable students to
o
acquire a
knowledge of the ways in which businesses are managed;
o
develop an
understanding of management, and the concepts and relationships on which it is built;
o
examine the role
and functions of management across a range of contexts;
o
explore the
operation of management in practice;
o
acquire a
knowledge of the skills required in management;
o
examine the values and
assumptions underlying business management practice and theory.

completion of this unit the student should be able to identify and discuss
major organisational
elements and the role of management in large
organisations.

styles and skills to different situations.

management of change in large organisations.

completion of this unit the student should be able to identify and evaluate
major practices and processes related to human resource management.

completion of this unit the student should be able to analyse and critically
discuss issues and trends related to change and the effective management of
human resources.

completion of this unit the student should be able to identify and evaluate the
effectiveness of operations management.
Assessment
The award of satisfactory completion
for a unit is based on a decision that the student has demonstrated achievement
of the set of outcomes specified for the unit. This decision will be based
on the teacher’s assessment of the student’s overall performance on assessment
tasks designated for the unit. At the Completion of a unit student’s result
will be reported as:
“S’ - Satisfactory. You have demonstrated the achievement of the learning outcomes
Or
‘N’ - Not Satisfactory. You have NOT demonstrated the
achievement of the Outcomes

Levels of achievement would be
determined by: School-Assessed Coursework (SAC),and
End-of -Year Exam.
