When the Teen staff heard the self-titled debut CD (Cherry/Universal) from Ireland's mytown, we loved it so much that we had to ask: When are they coming to our town? Luck us, these babley blokes landed in our office a week later and even treated us to a private concert!
They might be a boy band, but trust us--mytown (Marc Sheehan, Paul Walker, Terry Daly, and Danny O'Donoghue) are definately different. "It's acoustic-based R&B," explains Marc. "We do alot of live guitars and drum things." Yes, that's right: They actually play their own instruments!
Back in Dublin, mytown write songs about everything from partying all night (like on their first single, "Body Bumpin'") to falling in love. "If a guy doesn't know how to talk to a girl, he can just play our tape for her," says Danny. And even though the guys play instruments, they also have their dance moves down, thanks to Marc, who does a lot of their choreography (he taught B*witched in Ireland).
The guys describe themselves as traditional lads who love their hometown (it inspired their name), and as excited as they are to conquer America, Danny doesn't hesistate to sigh, "There's no place like home." And no group quite like mytown.
