Jan 25, 2002... Everybody's got "Eagles Fever" It would be exciting to see the two PA teams head-off, we'll see...Go Eagles! I know alot of loyal fans (the tried and true--win or lose) who have waited for this!
Thoughts & Prayers for Kim for a speedy recovery...I'm thinking of a new motto, "S-M-I-L-E anyway!" can't change some things anyway so you might as well keep smiling...
For some reason my hair has taken a life of it's own lately, yup thats right, that eighties, never change-do is kinda freaking out lately (or is it me??) Anyway I'm considering cutting it all off and starting over, should I?? Maybe it's going through one of those shedding stages I have heard about, somebody recently told me they read where a woman changes every seven years, not just her hair---the woman, "Now what's with that?" Is it an overnight thing or gradual? And when does it start? Is it like dog years the first couple don't count but thereafter every seven years, get ready for the change? Am I a new woman from seven years ago? And why only women? I thought it was tough enough already, now if I get too used to me it's gonna change in seven years anyway...Sheesh!! Better keep'em guessing...Don't be surprised if it gets chopped off..permanent helmet hair..temporary insanity...
Jan 24, 2002...Way back when...it was simple; eat foods with vitamins and minerals and you'd be fit, now days its complicated with antioxydents, phytochemicals, and other whatchamacallits, I like this advise, eat a rainbow of colors! I found this extremely interesting--and it's all foods most people like! Yippee!! funny is it a sign of getting old when you start to worry about this??
Just goes to show, seeing is NOT believing! This one's for you Cathy!...Smile! (okay, I'm not good at this, but I'm learning...)
...and now the real Bill & Cathy---all smiles! a great photo!
Near 50 degrees this upcoming weekend, WooHoo! anyone up for a bike ride???: )
Jan 23, 2002...I want my life back! ARGGGH! I need my sanity, what is wrong with me???..then, I talk to others about their day and my sometimes self-made problems seem very small....
Jan 22, 2002...A window is open, you slam the door, oops the hinge has been damaged, it doesn't open anymore, there's an annoying squeek, the knob is loose, I start noticing the whole thing creeks, why didn't I notice this before???
Jan 20, 2002...How the heck did THIS happen??..hehe..my first, crude attempt at image altering...We did get another snowfall, now how the heck do I get off the roof????...
Jan 18, 2002...Carl has a close one with a car but lands on his feet, thankfully, (using one of those nine lives, I suspect) luckily all is well...You just never know how things can change in the blink of an eye...makes ya think....the Pres has gotta chew his pretzels and Carl's gotta look both ways before crossing...and lets all count our blessings...
Jan 16, 2002...A somber day at work, two lose family members...puts everything in perspective for some... others just can't seem to see their way in the world clearly, I pray for those....a welcome reply from an old friend makes me smile...
Jan 15, 2002...Seems even a President and a Prince have everyday perils, watch the pretzels and the pot, and how the paparrazzi put it in print, perhaps Harry Pothead and President Pretzel 'er Bush, are humanly poignant and not properly poifect...
So what's YOUR definition of "woman power"???...Go Girl!!
Jan. 13, 2002...Well, I did it! Crossed another one of those bridges..literally! WooHoo! Always feared driving over the George Washington Bridge through the outer limits of the Bronx area of New York City, not only did I drive through, but I snapped photos along the way! I wish I had gotten a better pic of the NY skyline. How sad without the twin towers....after crossing the Hudson River and entering New Jersey, I see this..."United We Stand"...closer to home, I'm glad to see this.
I hope everyone had a good, restful, but fun weekend and is all ready to face the workweek with best foot forward...I am. Harley and Motorcycle Mania marathon on Discovery Channel tonight starting at 8pm...Be there!
January 12, 2002..Sleepy Hollow, NY near Tarrytown, and the Tappan Zee Bridge, over the Hudson River, I didn't believe Mr. D that it was the one in Washington Irvin's book,"The Headless Horseman" but it is so, a quaint town on the scenic way to CT...you were right, dear, i was wrong...: )
Carl & I go to see "Vanilla Sky"..WHAT WAS THAT???? That was the most bizarre movie I've ever seen, I'm still not sure if I liked it just a little or not, it was totally weird! thats all I gotta say...
January 11, 2002...Gearing up for that trip back to college once again, soon my jeep will know it's own way, Rt 81N-84E to scenic 34 in Connecticut takes you right in to New Haven...Happy travels!
How do ya vent about what ails ya without sounding like the rest of the gossipy crew?????? Just gotta watch your back everywhere you go, 'tis ashame....not how it should be..T.G.I.F.!!!
gotta think of games & stunts for our annual upcoming talent & dessert night at St. John's, Feb. 10, any ideas? funny commercials?? who needs talent, all ya need is laughs!
January 7, 2002.."Merry Christmas" to those following the Julian Calender!!...and all the northeast is having a "snow day!", at least I think 10" of fluffy stuff on my deck qualifies...lotsa shoveling paths and stuff and maybe we'll even build a snowman! : ) lucky Mr. D woke up a little early before leaving for work--(2:30AM--EEKS!) and plowed with ol' betsy before leaving, Thanks, hon! Seeya later...
Well no snowman, and no snow cream but surely a "Snow Day!"
January 6, 2002...PM..The snow's falling, kids are hoping for a snow day away from school, I am hoping for a safe traveling day for all, seems like it will be a "white" christmas for those celebrating the Greek & Russian Orthodox Christmas this eve and tomorrow...Merry Christmas!
Friends are talking about Bike Week at Myrtle Beach, A weekend at Wildwood Bike Week, Upcoming swap meet at York and Harrisburg, and all these dates fall in some conflict with getting C to & fro college..Sheesh! what to do?....I thought this is the time when life stops revolving around the kids...
Didn't anyone notice I was still writing 2001 instead of "2"...?????...
Watched "The Last of his Tribe" about "Ishi" the last Yahi Indian found in 1911, a real story, a sad but good movie...
January 3, 2002...Far too many good people have left this earth recently, thoughts and prayers to the Novatnak family, loved ones of George DeBerry, the Chuma family, and Stancavage's; our neighbors and friends, Felsie was truly one of those beautiful people everyone loved, I can clearly hear her saying; "How ya doin' 'toots', you're lookin' good!"...with that twinkle in her eye... She'll be missed by many...
Stupid things I wondered at work today; just what is in Missouri anyway? What state was "Driving Miss Daisy" set in, Are people from Missouri anything like West Virginians? How will I ever catch up on all that semi-junk mail that needs to be looked at at least once once and filed away way somewhere where "just-in-case", Has there been an actual threat at City or are we being targeted by terrorists? ...afterall if our armed service men aren't smartly dressed with ELBECO uniforms, how can they properly defend our country? and since we make the uniforms...... What's all this fuss about not enough space in ones work area? Does HDafterparts.com really exist? Does anyone know that on Neptune it showers diamonds? And who really cares about the proper pronunciation for U·ra·nus---I mean, how often do we really use it in a sentence???....And will we or will we not get that foot of snow this weekend??????SHEESH!
January 1, 2002...HAPPY NEW YEAR! In spite of my head cold and sniffles, I just had to keep our new tradition, Dave, Chopper, & I did our New Year's Day Polar bear ride, a brisk, quick 12 miles for Dave & I, Chop rides over adding 18 miles round trip to his tally! Way to go Choppie, 30 miles in 30 degrees or so temps...Is that dedication or just plain crazy???... Achoo--o!!... A nice view at the scenic overlook...
I hope everyone has a better year in 2002! Health and Happiness to all!
Dec. 31, 2001...ACHOO!..s'cuse me...*sniffle*sniffle*..I've been lucky so far but the sneezes going around caught up with me...seems I won't need a blibble or a toast to make me light headed, the cold medicines got me woozy..."Happy New Year's Eve" to all! See you in 2002! ***Acho-o-o-oooo--!!*
Dec. 29-30...Kudos to the cast, stage crew, director, the audiences & all those wonderful ad libs that made a successful three nights of a "Dicken' Christmas Carol"! until next play, "Break a Leg!"
Dec. 28, 2001...Opening night, a huge sucess, at least when measured by the laugh meter...too bad the incliment weather made for some traveling cancellations but there was a pretty full house anyway. Thanks Bill & Cathy for coming, hope you enjoyed!! Two more nights to go...
Anybody thinking about that New Year's Day ride??? if the conditions are safe, we can take the cold, just black ice and snow we must beware of....
Here's something to entertain the biker visitors until I get back here with new stuff, if you know dirt bike racing trivia, it's even better...Bike Trivia Game there are new questions each time.
Oh my gosh almost 2002!
Dec. 27, 2001...I hope most everyone had a safe and happy holiday, for some it's been very difficult, but time goes on and the sun rises anew each morning, we have to cherish the things most precious and be thankful everyday....it's the final dress rehearsal before our show, will we be ready? The show's Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, come & find out....
Dec. 24-25, 2001...Someone dear to us, someone very new in our family circle, has suffered a devastating loss on this most holy day--what seemed to be a gift has resulted in sorrow, we pray for hope & strength to get through these trying times, and prayers for all that have experienced loss in this otherwise jubilent season....God Bless.
Dec. 23, 2001...Down to the countdown to our play and the final days before Christmas...Hope everyone's prepared!...Here's the details on the funny, farce of a "Christmas Carol" as performed by the Nuremburg Community Players , hope to see all my buddies there! : ) I'm just full of surprises, come see....!

Dec. 20, 2001...A roadtrip to bring our gen-X son home from the other world,An interesting view, seeing college students during end of mid-terms, it's like "day of the living dead"...all these students walking around the campus in a daze (lack of sleep) all crumpled, (they need an ironing--All-over) it sort of made me chuckle, and funny how Carl grows a beard just because his razor broke, hmmm, ever hear of disposable razors?? : Þ
such is college-life I supose...
Happy B-day to Amanda, sweet 16...
Dec. 17, 2001...Everyone I talk to has some sort of personal crisis going on, how sad, everyone's trying to make the best of the season and all I keep hearing is sadness and despair, special prayers to all those in need...help us to mend and repair...

Dec. 16, 2001...Christmas Caroling for shut-ins and nursing home residents, a simple thing that brings such joy, and tears...I am always filled with great peace when I participate with our youth group on these outtings...
December 15, 2001..finally got the tree up, now it's beginning to feel like Christmas, can't forget how they look so small out in the great outdoors but when you bring 'em home...we played it safe and got a smaller one, only now we can't fit all the ornaments, gosh they all have such meaning, significance, how to decide which stay and which get put away for now, seems like lotsa motorcycle ornaments lately....: Þ
December 14, 2001...Slowly but surely the V-rods have been arriving at the local dealers, I gotta say how surprised I am that they appear so much smaller then at York, gosh, it's the same bike, but in the dealerships next to all the other models, they look much smaller, I remember that SMOOTH ride! : )
December 13, 2001...Being a fan of the "Wizard of Oz" books as a child, and now living in this computer-age I chuckled out loud at this cartoon...
I've never had chemistry in high-school, I took the easy path. I wish I had now, I sometimes feel very illiterate when it comes to my children's schoolwork and this ol' brain is so rusty sometimes...rehearsals, cantata practice, christmas decorations, pre-e-e-pare ye the way of the Lord....I'm running out of timeeeeeeeeeeee---!
December 11, 2001.."Welcome, Dylan to the planet!" my newest nephew...all 9 1/2 lbs! All's well with mother and baby and hopefully daddy didn't get too many new gray hairs! : )

Dec. 8, 2001...Justine & Mike looked lovely for the winter formal and appropriately we have our first accumulating snow fall in between the warm temperatures and the rain....
More movie reviews: "The Promise" started out pretty good, but what happened??? and I love Jack Nicholson! "Dracula" was positively scary, disturbing, gory, and made me very uncomfortable, not recommended, although I loved Wynona's dresses..
Why is it home sewing patterns are so complicated? I work all day sewing, something that's very simple, on a sewing pattern is like hieroglyphics! Also why do they tell you take a 5/8inch seam ALL AROUND and then trim it close to the seam? why not save all that material and make a smaller seam!! seems like such a waste cutting all that material off and throwing it away...oh well what do I know...
Dec. 7, 2001...A day of infamy..purely by coincidence, we watched "Pearl Harbor", it was very good, how very sad for the people who lived through it...I can see the comparisons...God Bless us and pray for peace on Earth.
Dec. 5, 2001...If one was going to pick a day to play "hookie"--- today would've been the day...A BEAUTIFUL, warm December day, all kinds of temperature records broken!...I was good, I went to work, lucky I rode my bike, I would have so-o-o regretted if I had not, later rode to play practice, just my usual errands and I put on an easy 40 miles or so...there's something funny about living in the cold northeast and riding a motorcycle around and seeing the houses lit up with christmas lights, it just doesn't seem natural, now I supose in Florida you would be accustomed to that but tonight I chuckled and admired...How I have missed riding!!!!!
strange dreams lately, what's that all about? Some think that dreams are the minds way of working out problems and concerns, what is a stray cat doing in my fridge? and what's Joe Schnedaker doing in my dream? and what about all that fire and misery? and what will tonight bring?????...How come I don't dream about riding down a relaxing road...winding, turning, leaning...brmmm-brmmm!!!
Dec. 4, 2001...How quickly a moment becomes a memory, how quickly time passes, cherish todays and tomorrows....
Dec. 3, 2001...Happy Big 4-0 to my buddy Carla, I sure hope she has a happy day!! I think of our past so often...
Nov. 30, 2001...Tomorrow's December already, EEKS! Times going much to fast!...I better clarify, or make a correction, anyone that knows me well might say I would never say, "Grow up!"...afterall, "stay young, have fun" might just be my motto, but first you face your responsibilities, pave your way in the world, then, live it up! Be silly! Don't be "grown-up" but first have your ducks in order and your responsibilities taken care of...
Thanks to that certain friend o'mine that worries about my moods, and likes to offer words of encouragement, Don't worry, I AM indeed a strong-willed harley-riding woman and nothing gets me down for too long, after I vent a little, all's well, life's too short, time's too precious!...
Which speaking of harley-riding,... no fair! We're getting all this unseasonably warm weather and it hasn't stop raining! I know we need rain, but I think we've had enough! This is more like Seattle weather or maybe London fog!!! It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring...Rain, rain, go away, so we can go outside and play..(on our motorcycles!) : )
Nov. 29, 2001...Another very sad loss in the world, George Harrison has lost his battle with cancer...I just loved Apple Scruffs, such a happy song...and Here comes the Sun...
Nov. 28, 2001...Gotta go with the flow, can't get too worked up, phone calls in the night, no fair can't think clear when your halfway dreaming, everybody needs to stop dreaming occasionally and see reality for what it is, and maybe grow up---at least just a little....mama always said if ya want to be treated like an adult, act like one, even adults have to follow some rules...
too much to think about... christmas shopping, college payments, winter formal, play props, top hats, fezziwigs, sob like a man, or a young boy at least, what did they wear in the 1840's??? (my poor neglected Dyna) Ba Humbug!
Nov. 26, 2001...Oh my gosh! I got a real scare today, stepped on the scale today! EEKS! I avoided it because I knew it was bad--it's worse!

A couple weeks ago on a trip to Reading, I happened to see this Harley Rider with a game of "Candyland" bungeed on the back of his full-dresser, now what do ya supose that was all about? Is that funny to anyone besides me? or only in Diane's World?...and besides, couldn't he fit it in the back???...If ya look real close, can you see me in that chrome dome, taking the photo?? hehe...Happy Happy....
Nov. 22, 2001...Happy Thanksgiving Day to All...A prayer of thanks, a prayer for peace....
Nov. 19, 2001...For those cooking the turkey Thursday, don't forget, take out those giblets before you cook it! and don't forget both ends! hehe..everybody does it once...remember?...
Harry Potter, Harry Potter, what's all this fuss?? Guess I'm not qualified to comment since I haven't read the book (which is ALWAYS better than the movie) or seen the movie--I just get a definite negative feeling when the commercialism and the marketing takes over...as far as the group against buying those books promoting sorcery and magic, are they really discouraging children from READING??? talk about ignorance....Books are suposed to be fantasy, to take you away to other lands....Sheesh!!! The book must be very good or there wouldn't be all this fuss, but separate the literature from the toys and marketing ploys...
Anybody see "Monsters. Inc." another cool computer image animated pixar movie? I wanna see it!...
Nov. 18, 2001...My dad's 70th birthday today...
Nov. 17, 2001...We missed the Ivy League College Football Game but we didn't miss the crowds! Our plans changed but the ride to Conneticut and back was fun, "almost" uneventful, except for the stop to tinkle at the State Police barracks and noticing later I forgot to stop for gas and my fuel light was lit...EEKS!...Can you imagine Yale University on the eve before the big rival game with Harvard?" Well I arrived and saw a glimpse of the morning "fall-out" of the pre-game parties...Oh dear...much worry for a mother, but Carl seemed glad to "escape"....
And where else have I been???..In "Rowena's" British-speaking world, of course, seems I got a part in the upcoming farce of a "Christmas Carol" and rehearsals and remembering lines is where my thoughts have been...anyone for a spot of tea and crimpets???..it's very funny but I gotta work harder with this old brain I got...
Nov. 13, 2001..oh gosh, so much going on...and after auditions, I'm talking in a british accent--just in case, "A Christmas Carol" the farce, a "play" within a play is going to be good! Right-O!
The Yale vs Harvard football game is coming up--I just may go, Someone said, "Do you think all those brainiacs use their engineer calculators to plot and plan their stradegies...he he! Do they!!???"...

Nov. 8, 2001...Another evening and I'm out chasing the sunset, darn, just can't catch it when it's hiding behind the mountains and trees, and moving faster than me, snapping photos while your riding a motorcycle is a lit-tle tricky, oh well here's the view I see....and another...maybe tomorrow I'll catch that huge, orange sun! : )
As hard as it is, the time comes when you got to let go of the past, especially if it hurts you and those you love, no matter how hard, ya gotta find a way...
I love you, Mom, and I love Dad, too...
Nov. 7, 2001...I gotta wonder about messages on answer machines, you know the cutsie ones we leave, "Can't get to the phone, PLEASE leave a messsage and we'll get back to you, Thanks~~~!!"...much to sweetsie, Does anybody leave a message like, "We're here but we're not answering, Leave a message, maybe we'll call, maybe we won't..see if I care...hahaha" (that was the other Diane)
Nov. 6, 2001..It's bad enough when you've missed a day of work, but then you go in and the company rules & guidelines are sitting on your machine--EEKS! Luckily it wasn't just me, a reminder for everyone, new management, we go through this and a few new rules as well, actually I miss one day and everythings upside down it seems--like Bizarro World!...Makes things interesting I guess...: ) Don't forget to Vote!

Kudos to Brittany, a wonderful First Communion Day for her!
...a beautiful fall picture of Mr. D's bike...and another with Justine...
...it always amazes me the simple things we take for granted that other people have to deal with on a daily basis, how much we have to be thankful for! For instance, I recently did a doofus(?) thing and fell down the steps, (Justine said I forgot to count'em--I thought I was at the bottom and I wasn 1
