Tandoallahyar is a small but a lovely city at a distance of 32 kilometers from Hyderabad. The ancient history of Tandoallahyar is not traceable because it is shrouded in the mists of more then a century. The peoples have recorded different traditions to construct its history. But due to lack of authentic evidence nothing can be said as a final word.

However many facts are still available. The city was founded by a ruler and landlord. Before the time of British rule the lands of this area were under the property of Mir's. And Mir Allahyar Khan Talpur was one among them who is the founder of city. So the history of this city is more then 100 years old.

For about 107 years ago Mir Allahyar khan built a fort at a distance of 3 kilometers from his homeland. This fort was built to look after the lands and farms that he had. Allahyar khan shifted from his village to the fort. As he was the only son of a ruler (Mir Fatah Ali), some special members of government also stayed with him at the fort for his guidance, protection and help. Because the needs of daily life were not available there, peoples from surrounding areas came and they start trading with the fort owners. As a little population begun, this area started to known as ALLAHYAR JO TANDO.

During the British government in 1906, a Railway station being established here. This step brought about a revolution in the history of the city. Peoples from different places came here, not only they start trading but also started to live in city. From that time the city's name from ALLAHYAR JO TANDO changed into TANDOALLAHYAR.

After the death of Mir Allahyar Khan, British government changed the fort into Police Quarter, Jail and the office of Mukhtiar Kar. (This fort is now known as the Kacha Qila) However some decorated walls from the times of Mir Allahyar Khan are still present, those are really viewable.

In 1933 after the construction of canal, the city of Tandoallahyar turned into an agricultural place. Before 1947 the city had a majority of Hindu followers. The temple of Rama-Pir is a symbol of it. However, after the creation of Pakistan a number of Hindu followers left for India.

Before the 1947 Tandoallahyar was a great trading place. At that time Tandoallahyar was the largest taluqa of Asia. Tandoallayar also has the biggest T.V Booster in all the asia. Except Karachi Tandoallahyar is the only city of sindh having two railway stations. (Tandoallahyar and Rashidabad railway station.).The city also has the temple of Rama Pir. Which the Hindu followers have visited from all around the world.

The land of sindh is famous for agriculture specially the lands of Tandoallahyar. The main crops of the area are Sugarcane, Wheat, Cotton, Onion and Mangoes.Reserve of Oil has also been discovered from the surrounding places. In the field of Industry Tandoallahyar has 5 cotton factories , Sugar Mill , Flour Mill and an Oil mill.

MNA's and MPA's have also chosen from Tandoallahyar. The younger brother of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Mr. Khaliq-uz-zaman elected as a MNA from Tandoallahyar.

Right at this time Tandoallahyar has just turned into a great city. Now there are schools, hospitals, Isp, mobile service, colleges, computer shops and many other facilities in city. Rashidabad in Tandoallahyar (at a distance of 7 kilometers), is a worth seeing place. Tandoallahyar got great progress in a very little time, we hope that in the coming times the city of Tandoallahyar will inshallah take more great progresses and will become one of the most advance cities of Pakistan.
