Ricky coming to Oz Well we had spent a long time apart. We had missed our very first wedding anniversary, as well as my 23rd birthday, Christmas, New Years and Valentines Day. I wasn't too worried about all of that, I just wanted Ricky to hurry up and get here!! I left America on the 13th of October. My plane ticket was running out, I was really homesick and Ricky still hadn't met his inlaws, so I thought it would be for the best if I came home on my return ticket and started saving up for his. Saying goodbye at the airport was awful. I looked at the clock and realized that it was time I should go, but I couldn't. I burst into tears. Ricky said, 'it's going to be okay', but it wasn't damnit! I was leaving my husband, for who knows how long. I had to go to the bathroom and try and calm down. I wiped my tears and came out, gave Ricky a big hug and two kisses and started walking off. Our friend Johnny said, 'hey, what about my hug??', hehe so I gave him a hug, gave Ricky another kiss and went through the security line. I stood watching Ricky for a long time, I wanted to run out and say, 'hey! I'm staying!', but I couldn't. I had already told everyone I was coming home. So I was home. By myself, without Ricky. Boy was I miserable. I bought phone cards every day and spent hours upon hours on the computer but it wasn't the same. We were saving, but weren't really getting anywhere. That's when a surprise person announced they were lending me the money to get Ricky here!! Woohoo!! So we transferred over the money and he booked his ticket! March 1st he would be arriving. Finally, we could start counting down the days!! We started at 48, I remember that because we couldn't get him a flight booked for a while. He flew visa QANTAS. March 1st FINALLY arrived. Unfortunately I didn't take my camera to the airport, but I should have! I arrived with my family at the airport really early, so there was alot of pacing going on. Finally his plane had landed, so I ran over to where they were coming out and waited. Where is he??? I started panicking because maybe his plane was late arriving in Sydney and he hadn't caught the connecting plane to Brisbane. But no, there he was :) He walked out wearing a jumper (and it was the hottest day in summer!!!), I called him and gave him a big hug. It was soooo good to see my husband again :) We went home, he showered while I got everything ready. Then we went down where I bought him a nice meal of Chinese. He had been eating crappy airplane food for two days, so he wanted something tasty. He really likes it here. We've been to Australia Zoo, all around Brisbane, we're going to Sydney soon, and then up north to visit my grandmother. He's having a good time, although he's really homesick. But asap we'll be back in the states. |
