The Politics
The Wood Elves of Peri'djvu are far from the barbarians that most have made then out to be. With the small Pieces of Culture the Wood elves brought with then can the Politic settings.

"We are here for the People" My father spoke as gathered for the nights meal "As nobility the King entrusts the lives of the people to our care." My Question brought a look of amazement to my father "then what does the King do." Pulling me up onto his knee "The king keeps the peace with the other races, he sets the laws, and he Keeps the Houses inline" |
The Great House are not the Ruling Body, but the Are the Controlling Body. They Are responsible for the well being of the People, Each house is Giving Status, and Control by the King. The Houses should be measured by the way they treat the People under there responsibility. The number of great houses had changed over the many years; at time there were no more then 3 houses, and some time as many as 7. Each House has control over a district, a area of the Forest to which it is responsible.

The King and his House are the Ruling Body of the Peri'djvu Elves. The King by himself doesn't have dictatorship over the Houses and thus the people. Instead the King is Measured by the Council; his Rule over the kingdom of Peri'djvu, is judged by the Council so if need be the Council can remove the king from the throne, and select a leader from another Great house to take his/her place.

The room was round and stood at two floors the second floor a large balcony filled with the people Wood elves of all ages. At the Far end set apart from the Public seating was a half Circle Desk, At this Desk Sat Four People 3 men and a woman. At their Focus point was a Large Wooden Chair much Like the Throne itself. The King Himself Sat there his Attention drawn to the Group of 4 before him, waiting there ruling. "We the council have heard the words the people. You have been proud and Arrogant, You let the people suffer, and Now we strip you of Your Rain. We will select The house to Replace you.........." |
The Council is the Voice of the People; they Give say to who the King is or how long the Kings Rule Will be. Rarely the Council has ever spoken out against the King or Queen. To Remove the Council from the Politic balance is to declare Dictatorship over the Forest of Peri'djvu.
| The Masses watched on as the Council removed this King from the throne. Then came the address "You have your wishes" The eldest of the Council spoke. "You live Under the Houses and Now you most Select the next to have the Throne" His eyes looking over the crowd as the silence continued. A man who sat just in front of me Stood "I ask the People to hear" He was one of the older of our kind he had much respect "I have traveled the districts watching and lessoning. I have seen the worth the Houses put into the people. I select the 'Shine' House to sit on the Throne" The man looked about the People around him, even looking down at me. "The 'Shine' family has given much of there things to see to the people....there time, effort, and the wealth" As I watched more and more People stood and gave like accounts of the 'Shine' household. Soon the Council quieted the Crowd. the Elder spoke again "the 'Shine' household has the voice of the People across the districts each voice speaks well of the House" The People again took there seats. A lone Figure remained standing, the Elder spoke to him "Orion Shine the People have spoken..." |

As with any Kingdom, the People are the most important thing. they are the body to Rule over, the artists, and craftsmen that create the economy. They become the soldiers to fight and defend. The life blood of the kingdom.
