Romeo's Juliet

Disclaimer: Roswell belongs to lots of people. Sadly enough I am not
one of them. The only thing I own is the plot.
Summary: This takes place in the future. Max is finally going back to his
home planet.
He rode in his jeep, the cold desert air whipping this his hair. His only
companion, the silence that echoed through his mind, loud as any siren. He
glanced down at his watch, he would be early, but he knew she'd
be there already. So he pulled up and stopped the car, the sounds of the
rocks under the tires permeating the silence. Pulling the keys out of the
ignition he reveled in the feel of the brisk air against his face and saw her
perched on a rock, staring out on the water.
Slowly he walked towards her, his feet making crunching noises on the gravel.
He then sat down next to her on the rock, staring out on the water. Not
wanting to speak in chances that they would ruin the moment. Wishing on a
star that if they didn't it wouldn't happen. But they
couldn't delude themselves. They'd known it would happen
eventually, they just never truly believed it would. They thought they would
last forever. Oh the power of denial.
He knew her. He looked at her face, beautiful like an angel. Her face gave
away nothing of the battle inside her that could only be seen in her eyes.
His eyebrows furrowed at the sight of her shivering. He shrugged of his
jacket and placed it around her shoulders. Soundlessly she moved and slipped
her arms to the sleeves, pulling the jacket to herself. She inched closer to
him, her head resting delicately on his shoulder and he slipped his arm
around his waist, his body yearning to touch her. Then she looked up at him,
her eyes like glistening emeralds so sincere and full of passion. He leaned
down capturing his lips with hers, his tongue slipping between her lips into
the dark wet cavern of her mouth. He only proceeded to kiss her harder as she
ran her small fingers through his hair. Then breaking contact with her mouth,
he kissed, sucked, and nipped a trail down her neck, tasting her sweet skin.
She placed her hands on the sides of his face and he stared into her eyes
once more. She pressed her lips against his again, loving him with her lips,
needing to breath but not wanting to pull away from her touch, until finally
they stopped, gasping for air.
He pulled her towards him till she was straddling his lap, their foreheads
touching as they stared at each other, as only lovers can. He softly stroked
her cheek with his hand, knowing that it would be the last time he would ever
be able to do this simple act, and knowing that he was leaving the one thing
that had kept him alive for so long. So he pulled his jacket apart, revealing
her blue shirt beneath and he slowly unbuttoned it, exposing her creamy soft
skin. Goose bumps immediately sprung up on her skin as she was open to the
elements and he placed his hands above her breasts and warmed her body and
the goose bumps disappeared. Then he traced a heart on her skin, and it
radiated a glowing red on her skin. This is where my heart
belongs forever and always. He knew he had to tell her now.
He'd known her for so long that it was just like breathing to him. She
deserved to know. "Maria, I love you." And the tears of
happiness that streamed down her face as he said
this were the best gift he had ever received in his life.
"I love you too." She threw her arms around his neck and he
exhaled in her scent, the sweet smell of strawberries. The joy from
hearing her actually say the words seemed to be bursting from the very seems
of his being. She cried loudly into his shoulder, and he slipped his hands
under his jacket and her shirt to touch her skin, and rub soft circles on her
back. Trying to ease away the tears. After a small time her sobs quieted and
she looked at him, and she pulled out a small ring out of her pocket. His
eyes widened at the sight of it. She slipped the ring onto his left hand and
whispered to him. My love. My life. My Romeo, from this lifetime till
the next. And then kissed his softly. He stated at her in absolute and
utter awe. They had never spoken of marriage before but he always believed
that is was a secret desire they both shared. They were so different but they
thought the same. Out of all the things in the world to get they had gotten
the same rings with the same inscriptions the same intentions.
He reached into the pocket of his jacket that she was wearing and pulled out
the small velvet box. He wished he could have given it to her when he knew
she was going to stay, but it was now or never. My love. My life. My
Juliet, from this lifetime to the next. Slowly he took out his
ring identical to hers, and slipped it onto her delicate hand.
Then he pressed their hands together, the cold medal of the rings scraping
against each other, then closed his eyes tightly and concentrated taking
dreams of their perfect day and it would be their secret and
real as anything. The hands glowed a dazzling blue when he projected
the visions.
~ Sunset. Him standing in a tuxedo standing and waiting. Liz, Isabel,
Michael, Tess, Kyle, and their parents also standing on grassy cliff looking
over the horizon. ~
~ Maria dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown, her hair up and gorgeous
white flowers in it. Alex holding her arm, walking her down the aisle. ~
~ "You may now kiss the bride." Max and Maria kiss. ~
He opened his eyes to see her looking at him. "Thank you. It was
beautiful." He smile beaming.
"Tonight, it has to be perfect." It was the last
night they would spend together ever again. He would remember it for the rest
of his life but he wanted it to be everything they had ever dreamed
of. He snapped his fingers and the lights from their cars shone upon them
like dancing and glowing ballroom lights. Their song slowly played off the
radio.
"Its our song."
"I know." He stood and she followed him. He held out his
hand to her and she placed hers softly in his. He twirled her around and with
his other hand ran them over her body transforming her clothes into a
magnificent strapless shimmering pink ball gown, and him into a black
tuxedo, the final touch, the rock and gravel floor
transformed into a perfectly polished ballroom floor. And she moved to him,
their bodies melted together. They fit perfectly. She slipped her arms around
his neck and he placed his around her slender waist and they swayed to the
music. The lights made the floor glow and the moon and stars shined for them
and only them, as they danced, their last dance.
If there were no
words
No way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears
No way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine
All of my life
I have been waiting for
All you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And showed me how to love unselfishly
I've dreamed of this a thousand times before
But in my dreams I couldn't love you more
I will give you my heart
Until the end of time...
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart until the end of time
'Cause all I need is you, my Valentine
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine
The End
