T'was the night before exams
and all through my home.
Not a creature was stirring
not even a gnome.
The lights were out
and the fire burned low
as outside,
the wind began to blow.
My parents were nestled
all snug in their beds,
totally blind
to what every teen dreads.
Upstairs in my room,
I sat at my desk
studying a book
that was so grotesque.
It was geometry! The dreaded cur-
full of angle bisectors and other stuff.
By ten, I knew
I had enough!
I grabbed yet another book to read
to study Texas and the Gulf Bay.
Luckily geography's
my life and forte.
When all of a sudden
I heard such a clatter
that I sprang from my desk
to see what was the matter.
I ran downstairs
as quick as can be.
At the bottom you'll never guess
what I could see.
Santa Claus stood at the bottom
with books in his hand-
he came to help me study.
Oh, this was grand!
Now math and science answers
came with ease.
By the end of our session
the coming exams
caused no unease.
He then hopped in his sleigh to head home.
But I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight-
"Good luck on the exams,
you'll do all right!"
