| A COWBOYS LAST PRAYER |
| Lord, thank you for making me a cowboy. Thank you for the ladies I've known. and thank you for thier love and kindness. They eased my pain and softened my heart, and I love them all. Thank you for creating the horse. They've been my companions and friends. They share their strength and kindness with me, And our hearts beat as one... Thank you for allowing me to witness the micacle of life, whether it be the birth of a calf or colt. All the blood, sweat and broken bones are forgotten when you see that new life up and nursing... And lord, if it's your will, let me take one more ride. Up a trail to a high mountain meadow. Let me lay down in a bed of grass. Let the last thing I see be a snowcap on a mountain peak rising above a clear blue lake. Let the last thing I hear be my horse eating by a stream, and the last thing I feel be the sun on my face, and the grass beneath me. Let my horse and faithful dog be there to morn my passing. Let them be the ones to know my final resting place, and then take them home. Let folks remember me for the way I was, young and strong, a top hand. Let the ladies remember me with a smile and a kind thought. And lord, if there are no horses in heaven, send me to hell cause it will be the same thing......
