| The legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker |
| UK Release Date: 3rd May 2003 I bet most of you out there who own a gamecube and love the Zelda series are kicking themselves saying "should I buy Wind Waker?" Well to answer that question: "WHAT!!! YOU MUST BE MAD NOT TO BUY IT!!! GO DOWN TO THE SHOP NOW AND BUY IT!!!" This game is brilliant. People had first doubts back in 2001 at the japanese game show, Spaceworld when a cartoony version of link appeared and people since then have been arguing if it had to go or not. This game brings everything that you want out of a Zelda game. I have played the past week (so I havent been online that much to do this website) and I have to say that your verdict of the game will turn from bad to brill. You get a whole new sense and sometimes you get so engrossed into the game you cant even notice the cartoony (I love the whole new design but I didnt even notice it that much when I started). The cartoony 3D (not 2D) complete with the very accurate Cel-shading make the graphics of this game very nice and brings a new look to the Zelda series and world. The GamePlay is the same as ocarina and Majoras mask but does that matter? Its a Zelda game, come on!!! The fighting is more musical and magical than the other 2 games cause every time you hit an enemy it makes a little note which as you fight can make it turn into a nice song while slaughtering a couple of smirking enemies. Also There are loadsa puzzles some of them are the same as the first 2 games but about 75% of the puzzles games are new to us. One thing I love to do in the game for some reason that I do not know is to sail in the King of Red lions (The boat obviously). You will spend a lot of time out on the Great sea going from place to place collecting items, filling your maps from the fish and fishing for money....As you can see the sea has a lot of stuff including minigames and secrets that will add extra lifespan. The weirdest thing about this game is that why did the musical item have to be a conductors baton? I loved the ocarina but it suddenly changed which I thought was weird. Thinking about that actually... The playing or movement of the baton is different from that of Ocarina and Majoras Mask. You need to point the C-analog stick in the direction you need to before the movine point along the top hits the middle. You dont get a rythm but you need to do it. Gameplay What can I say... Loadsa Dungeons, battles and sailing makes it a whole new wonderful experience. Rating: 10/10 Sound There is never anything wrong with Zelda Music and the music in battle is great Rating: 10/10 Lifespan With a main quest that last up to 30 hours for an oringinal gamer and a hordeful of side and miniquests that takes weeks to complete makes this a game that will turn you into a Zombi with a beard that is afraid of fresh air and sunlight (LOL jokes!!! Im just saying you will be definantly staying in most of the time trying to crack every single challenge in the game.
