in the west the sky is blue
north, south, east, up above too
Moon still up 'though going down
Sun is shining on the town
clothed in mist across the bay
with geese and gulls with much to say
a crow walks by in stately waddle
the traffics' roaring sounds which muddle
nature's morning songs and sounds
Vancouver's waking all around
ships swing slowly as tide flows out
of the bay - float planes that shout
and scream while gaining speed
leaping into air they need
all the power which they can muster
this February morning, which is just a
moment shared with all others
here on Earth and cosmic lovers
the Sun, the Moon, and all the stars
Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars
all the planets, all unseen
beings in the space between
first waking up, then back to sleep
as we journey through eternity's deep
mystery forever, in lives that go on
beyond anyone's thinking, beyond beyond
the only truth we need to know,
loving each other is how we grow
