I'm
going to probably skip and change some details of the story but I hope you'll
like it anyway ^^;; The title comes actually from my favorite X Japan song,
however the title has nothing really to do with the story..well it might..sorta!
This takes place after the game, so uh.there are spoilers.
Scars
It has been 4 years since the blonde Al Bhed woman had traveled with a group to
defeat sin for once and for all. After all the events aspired, she decided to
help rebuild Home with her fellow al Bhed. Rikku had grown up in this time,
however she had managed to stay the same cheerful girl she had once been. She
would sometimes visit who was left of the group, but most of the time she was
very busy with whatever she got herself into.
She missed Tidus and Auron, plain and simple. She had managed to save Yuna, but
she lost two people she cared for very much, that Yuna and everybody else cared
about intensely. Everyone had wished there were another way, somehow that they
would not disappear. However no one had an answer, and fate decided their
future. Rikku had at first not cared for the scared up man in the red but she
realized that she did care for him, as she cared for everybody. He had been
there for her, for everybody and even though he didn't show he cared, she knew
he did.
Rikku felt sorry for Yuna, losing someone she had fallen in love with. Rikku had
become good friends with the star blitzball player of 1000 years ago. Tidus had
always been there for her too, and she regretted he was gone. Ever since the
events with Sin, everybody tried to get over the events, over them. It didn't
work though because Rikku spent most of her spare time thinking about the past.
She wanted to get over it however she just couldn't let go.
Meanwhile.
Looking down at a certain al Bhed female, Auron sighed. He had been in the
Farplane for 4 years, however it seemed like eternity. However he seemed to keep
himself from the massive boredom. He always looked over the ones he would always
protect, as did Jecht and Braska. Auron was alone this particular point of time
however drowning himself in his thoughts. Auron was happy he had made peace, but
still wanted to be a part of that live. He wondered what life would be like now
if he hadn't died.
Auron saw the woman take a walk. He wondered what the woman was thinking. He
didn't understand why, but most a great deal of his time was looking over this
particular person. He never really got along with her; he didn't even allow
himself to. Somehow he became attached to her. He heard someone approach him
from behind. It was his good friend Jecht.
Jecht sat down next to Auron however it looked more like floating to the man.
The two men just sat there for the longest time without saying a thing to each
other. Jecht had been worried about his friend lately. He tapped Auron on the
shoulder.
"Please Jecht, I do not want to play your games right now." The
scarred man said to him.
"Auron, there may be a way that you have another chance." Auron looked
at Jecht in confusion.
Back on Spira.
"Life is so boring right now. At least with Auron I wasn't bored. I have no
one to argue with now!" Rikku kicked some sand then plopped down on the
warm sand. Her thoughts of the past filled her mind once again. She looked at
the stars, staring at one that was particular bright that night. She realized,
it wasn't a star! The light was coming towards her! Everything became black.
A while later.
She opened her eyes slowly. Her head hurt. Hell, everything hurt. Rikku felt her
surroundings. She was no longer on the sand but in a soft bed. She turned her
head and then her body shot up when she realized she was no where she had been
before. Rikku was in a very large room, a very beautiful room. The door started
to open and before whoever was coming in could, she fell back into bed and
pretended to look asleep. The person walked to her and put a hand on her head.
The hand was somewhat large, obviously not a female's hand. Rikku decided to
open her eyes. The man looked at her and smiled kindly. Rikku thought for a
minute. 'this man, he looks very familiar.'
"Hello, my name is Braska. You are in my home. My companions found you
lying next to the ocean unconscious. They brought you back here and you've been
here for a couple days. I was starting to worry." The tall man walked to a
closet and pulled out a robe. He laid it on her bed.
"Your clothes are in the closet as well. You were covered in sand and we
had your clothes washed." Braska sat down in a chair next to her.
"The clothes you are wearing, you may keep them if you wish. I would like
to ask you however, why you are covered in sand? There is no sand where we found
you, only rock."
"I'm not sure. I was at uhm.I was somewhere then everything went
black." Rikku realized that somehow she was in the past, when Braska was
still alive. She decided to not tell Braska about his and his friends grim
future. Then proceeded to say.
"I.I would like to join your voyage to find the final aeon." Rikku
didn't know what she was to do, however since she was in the past she might as
well take the opportunity. She knew Auron would be with them, and she could find
out a way to save Auron, possibly Braska and Jecht as well.
"I want to help you. That is my reason here, please do not ask why I want
to help you but, I want to make sure everything goes well. I wish to be a
guardian." Rikku started to feel dizzy again and laid in the bed.
"I see. Well if that is what you want, then I will allow you to travel with
me. I'm not going to make you a guardian right now but if I decide that you wont
try to do anything to disturb this trip then I will make you a guardian. Is that
fair?" He saw Rikku nod and saw her close her eyes again.
Rikku opened her eyes again. Braska was no longer in the chair. She realized she
fell asleep and it was night time. She got out of bed and put the robe that
Braska had given her to put on. She walked out of the room
and looked around. 'This house is HUUUUUUGE!' she thought. She smiled, then ran
around some more. Suddenly when she wasn't looking she ran into someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to, I was just looking and I've never been
in a house this huge before and well I'm sorry!" She looked at the man and
saw his face. He had black hair, it was pulled back into a ponytail. She
examined the man further, only to realize it was Auron. He definitely did look
different. He was not in his usual clothes, but was in a pair of pants and a
shirt. She smiled at him.
"It's alright, but please watch where you're going next time. Some people
won’t be as forgiving." The man looked at the woman who was looking at
him.
"Is there something wrong?" Auron asked.
"No! Nothing at all." Rikku started to feel her eyes water. She was
with one of the people she had grown to care for. She was with Auron again, and
he was alive and well, he was alive and that is all that mattered to her. She
looked down and started to turn around.
"Wait! You're al Bhed aren't you? I saw your eyes. Listen, if you're
worried that I'll try to make your life a living hell then do not worry. I am
used to Al Bhed, and I have come to realize they aren't all bad." Auron
turned his head and saw a drop of waterfall to the floor.
"Why do you cry? Did..did I do something wrong?" Auron turned the girl
around, to see her crying.
"It.its nothing. I'm just happy is all, I just realized." Rikku wiped
away her tears from her face.
"You just realized what?" Auron looked at her wondering what she had
meant. He stood for a few minutes, not knowing what to do.
"Uhm, I seemed to have forgotten to introduce myself, my name is Auron. I
am one of Braska's Guardians. Braska told me about you, that you would be coming
with us. To tell you the truth I wasn't happy to hear it at first but, as long
as you don't interfere too much I guess it is alright. Besides I have other
things to worry about."
"Like Jecht?" Rikku giggled.
"Yes. I do not trust him, however Braska believes he will be an asset to
our pilgrimage. Say, are you hungry?" Auron asked. He turned around and
started to walk the other way, waving for her to follow. Rikku was very
confused. This man was very different then the Auron she knew. He, he seemed
well, he didn't act like a social abortion like he did when he was Yuna's
guardian. He didn't have that hidden pain like he did when she was with him
then. She followed him. Auron stopped in a dining room and pulled out a chair
for Rikku to sit in. He went into the kitchen and brought back some food that
had already been prepared for Rikku when she was feeling better.
Auron sat down across from Rikku. He watched her eat quietly. He still didn't
trust her completely however he decided she really wasn't a threat as long as
she isn't around other al Bhed. However she could have set the whole thing up
from the beginning. He would keep an eye on her.
