This is my very first year doing the Púca Project, and I'm very grateful to Eva for introducing me to it (and in the nick of time!). Don't know what it is? Find out by visiting the project website (Link provided above). Think I'm crazy? You're probably right!
But I fell in love with the Púca Project when my friend Eva gave me a link and semi-jokingly told me, "We should do it!" I read the explanatory anecdote at the original livejournal and I was ecstatic. Spreading love and joy? On Halloween? Sign me up! It's the perfect way to fight the commercialism of such an otherwise fun holiday, while at the same time it combats the view of Halloween as an evil satanic day (which drives me nuts--but everyone is entitled to his own opinion).I decided to adapt the concept by passing out flowers at school on Halloween. But of course, being the stalwart educational juggernaut in the face of ignorance and democracy that it is, my high school does not allow Halloween costumes. And I respect that. And got around it by buying myself a "darkly beautiful" (coined by yours truly) outfit to wear. ^-^ Oh, how I secretly adore darkly beautiful things. But I digress. Yay for Halloween and the Púca Project! I can't wait for tomorrow.
