Apologies

Sorry, ppl. This layout's gonna be up for a while (and you thought I was just kidding when I predicted so!). Reason being, I took a long, loooong break to work on history fair and then to slack off after we got third at State. (Woohoo!) Anyhoozits, right now I'd like to concentrate on content, first, so that this place can really be up and running, before I try getting a pretty layout together.
Miscellaneous updates: Keestal's in LUV! - Never answer two phones at once. - One day I shall go to the Louvre.

eh, teachers?

Infatuations require patience. All you can do is bite your lip and wait it out until the next one hits.
I hate myself for crushing on teachers. There's no point to it, you know? I mean, there's no chance they will reciprocate. But at the same time, I can't help it. Adults possess a maturity and life experience that is rare in high school students. They've gone through a lot of the same things you're going through now, and they're going through a lot of the same things you will be going through in later years. They're also generally well-mannered, patient, and understanding. Sometimes I even feel more comfortable talking to teachers than fellow students. Can you blame me?
For example, I was walking with this girl at UIL and we were talking. She's a great person, you know? But she was talking about her ex-boyfriend, and how they broke up because of his mom's dislike for her. As much as I sympathized with her, my heart wasn't in the conversation.
Case #2. The short (too short!) bus ride back to school from the competition, I got around to talking with our choir director. Before long he started elaborating on everything from funding for fine arts programs to his goals to playing the piano. I guess you wouldn't think it was interesting, but I did. I love music. So anyway, I didn't want that ride to end so soon.

dreams and coats and colors

Why is this layout still up, you say? Well, like I said before, I'm leading my own quiet revolution, and I think it's been a while since I took a stand. Or maybe I'm just too lazy to get up a new layout. So, as I've gotten various compliments on this one, it'll be around for a while. If I ever get some time off, I'll get a new one up in April, but I advise you not to count on it. Fifty bucks says I won't get around to it till June. Haha.
Anyways, my mom said I could be a hospital volunteer this summer. How cool. Although I would like to have a real job so I can earn money. But getting some volunteer hours in during the summer shouldn't be too bad. Life experience, hey.
I went to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat downtown Friday night with Rebecca and her youth group. Awesome time. Made me feel so sucky that I wasn't one of the performers. If you give me $200 and permission to attend the drama class they offer, I promise I'll get cast for the next performance.
So I'm chilling here and snacking on macadamia nuts, wondering how the whole dress thing for UIL will work out by Tuesday morning. The only reason I'm in choir is cuz I got stuck there. I'm really not good enough to be in it and I shouldn't be going to competitions either, but the director thinks I'll be useful for sightreading.
Don't get me wrong. I love choir, I love to sing, and I can carry a tune. Just not very well.
Recent obsession with the song "Come What May" from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. You should download it sometime. I ordered the sheet music for it online and it should be here by the next weekend. Anticipation....

chains

New link exchanges! Brittany's link can be found under "Link Exchanges" and Sara's can be found under "Button Wall." Both are under WWW. These are my first two links, well since I lost my others. I'm always open to new exchanges!

Some geography in your face

Upon meditating deeply about my page, I realized (very belatedly) that my blatantly French layout could not have been used at a worse time. This is concerning the whole current American Anti-French culture trend, of course. All I can say is, "Oops." However, this doesn't mean I'll take the layout down any sooner than I would. I'm not necessarily siding with anything about it or making some sort of statement. I just really don't think burning your clothes from French designers and changing French fries to Freedom fries will do anything. If you're going to be so Anti-French about it, boycott something. THEN maybe you'll actually be doing something productive.
LOL, now that I think about it, I wore what I called my crazy "French Chaos" outfit to school the last day before Spring Break, and my geography teacher was staring at me. Oops again. Maybe I'm singlehandedly leading some sort of subconcious culture revolution.

yum, shrapnel

I don't like war. I am extremely opposed to it. But my belief is that if it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Secretly, I just wish we were all squabbling children, so one motherly woman would only have to grab our ears and tell us to knock it off. Judging by the state of things in the world, though, the woman would probably turn corrupt by greed and power, non?

just green

Websurfing is extremely depressing. Everywhere I go, I see polished domains with interesting content and blogs recording snazzy social lives. And then I look at my piece of crap on the Web, and I can hardly keep from shaking my head in dismay. Moreover, it's always sad to see a true masterpiece of a site close down forever. I would never, ever do that on my own free will. Mystic Realm is here to stay, though I'm not too sure that is a good thing. But there's always room to grow, right? I've gotten far from my Angelfire mess. I still remember that horror, my pride and joy, back when I was eleven. You know when you first start webpaging, you know very little about it, so you pile everything you do know onto your page? That's exactly how I was. My "Mystical World of Fun" (a lamer title I cannot, for the life of me, think up!) took forever to load, since it was so ad-laden, graphic-heavy, and had all sorts of useless tricks and gadgets. MIDI's, fading backgrounds, cursor trailers, everything. The whole thing screamed, "AMATEUR!" LOL. I'm better off now, learned the error of my ways, but I have such a long way to go before I can call myself a true, talented web designer.

new layout

Hi sorry it's like four days later than I said I'd put it up. Been lazy, what else can I say? It's late, I'm tired, and my lil sis wants me to play Scrabble. Welcome to my twisted take on ballet and the French language. More later.
XOXO Crystal.

yay for advancement

So, so, SO sorry, you guys. I don't think I'll be able to update for another week or so. I've been preoccupied with history fair last week, and this week is Dead Week (Quarter Exams). So I don't have a layout ready. Hopefully, I won't be too busy this week, so I should have something new up by next Monday.
Speaking of history fair, woo-hoo!!! Friday was Regionals, and our group won FIRST PLACE in our category, Senior Group Performance. The reason why I'm making a big deal out of Regionals this time is that this year is the first we've ever competed in Senior Division. We had no idea what we were up against, but it turns out we beat all the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders in our category! See, freshmen aren't inferior. So we're going to State in May. We've got a lot of work to do.
All of the members of our group except one have been competing since sixth grade (One joined in the seventh), so this is our fourth year. In sixth, we received Honorable Mention at District; in seventh, we went all the way to state and lost; the same happened in eighth. This year, we're aiming to at least make it to run-offs at state and hopefully advance to Nationals. Wish us luck!
Much love and SORRY SORRY SORRY!,

Happy Black-Cherry Style Valentine's Day to everyone!

OMG!! My violin came yesterday! It's in this big suitcase-wannabe case with a big strap, and it's all new-looking. Well, yeah, LOL, but I like things to be new-looking all the time. Does this mean I should start practicing? =)
I can't wait 'till lunch Monday...we're going to buy a carnation for Mohamed's leather jacket! It's hilarious, because he's been making out with it. I just hope he's not planning to get us back.

Simon says

Can we say "DEAD END"? It's amazing how a group of girls can't decide on a few simple choices.
But moving on...Hey, did the Groundhog see its shadow?? I'm impatient for spring. Crystal does not fare well in long sleeves and jackets. Let's all join hands and sing Kumbahyah and maybe spring will come early. *sits cross-legged* ohhmmmmm...ohhmmmmm....
LOL, can we say "LOOPY"?
