Bali Bombing Dedication

This is one kind of page that I wish I didn't have to write. Already having done a dedication for 9-11 the thought of having to do another so soon never occured to me. This one is not from the group but from me, the founder Ellie`, personally. I know I have the group's sympathies in writing it though. As a child I never really had any pride in being Australian because I always used to look up to Americans and wish I was there, not here in Australia. But as I grew older I started to understand just what it meant to be Australian. We are fun-loving, down-to-earth and great mates to each other. We never let a hard time keep us down and we will fight for the truth, what is right, and what is humane. We care for the world and see ourselves as the kitchen sink cookie of the world. We have people of all religions, all races, all nationalities, all backgrounds and we pride ourselves on our multiculturalism. In my life I've had to move a lot and I've seen a great deal of Australia and with the diversity of our environment I feel blessed to have been born in this country. A lot of Australian lives were lost in the Bali Bombing, targetted because of Australia standing beside America in its time of grief and joining its fight against terrorism. Our minds won't change because some group of extremists murder our fellow countrymen, women and children. It only makes us fight harder, want more justice done. Before we were sad for America, and for the losses we had in 9-11, and angry at what was done. Now we're outraged. We hold hands now, as Australians mourning our lost souls, our friends, our family members, our neighbours and on a whole, our people. But we also continue to hold hands with the people of the world who will continue to fight against this modern-day evil.

You didn't weaken us. You made us stronger. And now we're coming for you.

To all the children who lost a mother or father. To all the mothers and fathers who lost a child. To all the sisters and brothers who lost their siblings. To all the mates who lost their friends. To all the workers who lost their colleauges. To all the Australians who lost their lives doing just what we do best. Have fun.

We will never forget you.

Ellie`.

If you believe, or if you doubt.
There's a universal justice.
And the eyes of truth are always watching you.'
