Tribute: Julian Davies
This is my little tribute to this great artist
Long time ago, in 1996, I went to Italy on a trip with my family and I met a very special musician: Julian Davies. It all started in Firenze (Florence). We stayed there for about four days to visit the city, which is very lovely.
The first night I was there I had dinner in Piaza de la Signoria and while walking around there I heard a very beautiful music from somewhere. I followed its sound and in front of the Offizzi Museum there was a boy singing there with his guitar. There were just a few people listening to him and my family and I stopped to enjoy his beautiful "small" concert. I was sitting there a few metres to him and believe me, it was some of the best singers I ever had seen before.
He was elling his CD and of ocurse I bought it. When he finnished singing said thanks to us and went away. That night I spent a lot of time in bed listening to the CD and it was wonderful, all the songs he played were some of my favourite songs, too, and his own songs were great!
So the following night I went back to the same place, he was there but just sang a few songs because another group came to sing next to him, I relaly didn't like them, so I was wishing to see him the following day.
My third night in Florence. That night he was singing in the middle of Piazza di la Signoria with a larger number of public, but I don't know why, and I can't understand why almost nobody bought his CD. That day I took him a photo, it's not a so good one, but you can see it in this page. It was incredible, his voice, his way of singing,... it was another special night! I stood there all the time he was singing. Then he collected all his things and gone away, I wanted to talk with him, but silly me I was to shy! (since that day I said to myself that shyness isn't good! So he passed with his instruments next to me and I looked at him passing all the square and disappearing on another street...

I didn't see him my last night in Firenze, don't ask me why but I felt so sad and also stupid for not talking with him the night before.
So from that day, a September day of 1996 I have never heard about with anymore. I don't know if he's English, American,...I only know he has lived in San Francisco, sang in Italy and also gone to Norway.
I just can enjoy his wonderful music and one thing I know for sure: he's a very good musician and I hope he'll have success in his career, because he feels music deeply from his heart.
