| The history behind the poet.......Aunt Dottie as our family calls her, has been writing poetry for the family for years. She's never written poems about love, or the deep blue sea. Her poetry, was always composed as requested, or to make a statement about one of her special children. Today, we dug into her poetry archives, that she keeps in her file cabinet. This gem below was written for a special family Birthday. |
| HAPPY BIRTHDAY Happy birthday to a nice Aunt, one who helps us all, We can depend on her to come to our beck and call. She helps us in our time of need, And blesses us with her good deeds. She cooks, sews, and even jogs some too, And there's a whole lot more that she can do. A few years ago, a three wheel bike she rode, She cruised at about forty on down the road. She was eastbound on Rte. 50, and made a turn into town, And over she went, skinning knees as she went down. And like I said before, she's and excellent cook, And makes lots of recipes, not in the book. But one day when applesauce she was canning, some spilled on her toe, and she began dancing. Around and around the table she went, She hopped and kicked, and was over half-bent. Her toe was beginning to get awfully pink. While she yelled at Aunt Jessie to get the pan out of the sink. There's lots more I could say that's plenty funny, But I know she is itching to get to the money. So, to our good Aunt we do want to say, Have a happy, happy birthday, today.
