Witches should be aware of their roots; aware of how and why the persecutions came about. twenty-five thousand years ago wo/man belived in the multitude of gods. A fod controlled a wind, the sky, the waters. Their were two gods of great importance; a god of hunt (the horned god) and the goddess of fertility (venus). Wo/man depended on both of these gods to help them gey food and tools to live. Christianity was not the immeddite conversion ehen the religion formed. Pope Gregory decidid to get more people to church. He came up with this brilliant plan to build the santurarys over the ritual sites, and naturally they turned the horned god into the devil and the goddess of fertility into Mary mothe of Jesus. For nearly 200 years of fire persecutions raged. People were put to death just for their belief. Human kind had gone mad. A rough estimate of the total number of people burned, hung or torutured to death on the charge of witchcraft is nine million.
