A kid named Yugi is given an old Egyptian puzzle by his grandfather. When he finally solves it, he gains magical powers. Now he has an alter ego called Yami Yugi.
Maximillian Pegasus, the creator of the game Duel Monsters, kidnaps Yugi's grandfather. Now Yugi has to win a Duel Monsters tournament so he can save his grandfather. He enters the tournament with his friends, Joey, Tristan, and Tea.
