Salem is another of my Black Bombays. He was born on April 18, 1998.

Feb 29, 2008 - Salem began to act really weird and started yowling and wouldn't stop even after trying several things to calm him down. I picked him up, bundled in a towel and went and sat down on the bed, and he passed away while in my arms. Salem fought long and hard and is now healthy, happy, and pain free at the Rainbow Bridge playing with his sisters. You will be missed, my kitty. Until we meet again!

On March 27, one of my cats kept acting weird and kept leading me underneath the table in my room. I looked under there and found Salem and he wasn't doing too good. He had lost a great deal of weight (keep in mind we had just seem him Sunday and he was fine) and he was just laying there. We were pretty sure we were going to lose him. We took him to the vet and it turns out he got an infection in his ear and it basically just took over and ravaged his body. He has been in out of the vet for the last week, including all day hospital visits, as well as in-home IVs, shots, and pills. Today, April 4th, 2007 he is slowly but surely recovering and seeming to be getting better. Hopefully this continues. :)

April 5, 2007 - Salem went to the vet today and we were told no more IV..yay! :) He's to stay on his antibiotics and he's supposed to go back for another check on Saturday. He's also gained 1 1/2 pounds. :)

April 14, 2007 - Went to the vet today and was told he is doing really well and is almost back to normal. He's up to 7.3 pounds now. :) He still has a little bit of infection in his ear (She still can't see all the way down it) so he will be taking ear drops again for a week and then going back for a re-check next Sat to see if it is any better. Overall though, he's on his way to a full recovery! :)

April 12, 2007 - Salem went to the vet last Sat and was told he was doing a lot better. He's up to 6.5 pounds (hopefully more now) and will be going back to the vet again Sat to be checked again.
