| It's three more years of tossed salads and scrambled eggs for Frasier: NBC re-upped on the six-year comedy staple, to the reported tune of $5.5 million per episode. Negotiations between NBC and producer Paramount Television Group ended Monday, also ending the speculation that the Kelsey Grammer sitcom might be snapped up by another network. The former Thursday night regular will most likely return next season in its current Tuesday night time slot, Jeff Zucker, president of NBC Entertainment, told Reuters. Paramount was reportedly seeking $8 million per episode, which would have made Frasier the most expensive comedy on television. NBC reportedly pays about $6 million per episode for Friends, which is still its top-rated comedy. |
