ACTINOPTERYGII

Actinopterygians, or 'ray-finned fishes,' are the largest and most successful group
of fishes and make up half of all living vertebrates.

AVES

The vertebrate class Aves includes the birds, an extremely distinctive and successful clade, with an estimated 9000 species.

CHONDRICHTHYES

These are fishlike vertebrates with well-developed fins and teeth, and with 2 pairs of fins, one of them supported
by the pectoral girdle, the other by the pelvic girdle. Their most distinctive character, as contrasted with the bony fishes

CRUSTACEA

Approximately 30,000 species make up this Subphylum. Most are aquatic; of these, the majority are marine
but some are found in fresh water

Holothuroidea, or sea cucumbers, have around 1100 extant species

majority of the species of animals on earth

MAMMALIA

The class Mammalia includes about 5000 species in 26 orders. Systematists do not yet agree on the exact number
or on how some orders and families are related to others
