Name: MageFrostMyst Title: Head Mage Of Myst Age: Race: Discription:
Bio: Magefrost is a mismatched being, the result of the soul of a machine being thrust into the soulless body of a man. Both of these parts individually have histories stretching back millennia. However, they have only existed together as Magefrost for the past century or so. Memories before this merger are very vague, generally more subconscious ideas about things than anything that he can bring to the fore of his mind. Due to the natural proclivities of the body, Magefrost has rapidly unleashed very much raw talent for magic.
Magefrost originally merged (as you can say that he was neither created nor born) upon the island of Aunoth, on a very distant world. Magefrost came to grow apart from his associates there, and so took to wandering across planescapes. He was propelled and protected by his magical talents, and great improvisation of spellcraft. Eventually it was that he came upon the realms of Myst, and so there found a peace of sorts, and companions which did not bore him. So it was that he became attached to this place, staying and becoming a member of Myst society.
Unfortunately, hidden within the subconscious of the soulless body that the spark came to possess were many different beings. Originally there were only three others, but eventually they evolved and multiplied, warped and stretched by the passage of time and the changing mindscape. Eventually the plethora of these voices drove him nearly mad, and caused many great headaches and seizures. So it was that he came to a decision, and searched long and hard through his libraries and those of the castle, eventually coming upon a most rare and powerful ritual. Taking these magical formulae, he holed himself up within his icy abode on the lake, and did not emerge for nearly a moon. At the end of this long and excruciating ritual, Magefrost released the energies he had built up, splitting these beings from his mind and creating them as separate people. Unfortunately, as well as unintentionally, he had driven away all of his power with magic along with the troubling voices, leaving him a powerless and rather normal man.
So it was that Magefrost did much soul searching, dwelling and brooding much upon the nature of things. This melancholy continued for a while, until a dark force, which stole from him his sight, attacked him. So it was in the facing of this dark force, a shade of his own inner darkness, that he confronted himself and his loss. He confronted himself, and eventually came to prevail, having learned of his own nature, taking back what was his. So it was that he was restored to his former power, and again has a shadow.
So that brings us to the current state of the things with the Magus Frost, Archmage of the Realm of Myst. |
