  It is the Mage's job, in this fine land of Myst, to do it all. Serve and protect, heal and repair, guide and advise. The esoteric arts are many and varied in their methods, but a Mage of Myst is sworn to use their arts in the service of Myst, to the betterment of it and it's people, to always help any Myst in need, and to always improve their craft.

   The initiation of a Mage is an  important and life changing decision,
a commitment not only towards harmony with your fellow Mysts, but a pledge of your craft and art into the service of this glorious Land. Being Mages, no simple oath could consumate such a bond, so instead
it shall be a tradition, a ritual geas, a binding of the mind as well as the body to the service, protection, guidance, and assistance of Myst.
