Myst Family Code of Knightly Conduct.
To be Pledged to, Obeyed, and Upheld at all times be the Knights of the Family Myst.
In order to become a Knight one must be in service to some deity, noble, order, or special cause. The Knights of Myst need not worry about this.
They have already pledged their loyalty and their lives to Myst. Their Family. But as Knights of ths family they swear a double oath of Loyalty. They swear to Serve and Protect Myst. This means ALL members of Myst, not only protection of the Queen and royal family members or other high ranking members ( i.e. the Table). It also does not limit the Knights' sphere of protection to those members they personally deem worthy, those that they are particularly fond of, their fellow Knights, or merely to Myst members. Any allies or friends of Myst which are listed as under Myst Family protectioon, or which the Knights are told are to be protected shall be protected unto the death of the Knight whose charge they are left in.
The Knights must always place honour, bravery, and personal deeds (acts of heroism) in the forefront of their activity, and must adhere to a code of knighthood [chivalry] (described below).
A Knight is expected to undergo continual training and practicce in arms and warfare, such that a part of every day not spent on other pressing matters must be spent in arms drills or other combat practice.
Finally, the Knights *MUST* follow a code of conduct and ethics , akin to chivalry. Upon being sworn to knighthood (by Shantel, or another member of the Table) in a ceremony approved by the Table, the Knight must pledge himself or herself to this code. Failure to sustain the oath is not sufficient reason to revoke knighthood, unless the Table or First Knight specifically demands such. In the latter case, the Knight will become a mere fighter (or Royal Guard) with no special privilages. |
