MSTing Drinking Game: You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll fall down drunk!

The MSTing Drinking Game v 2.0

(With contributions by Keith Palmer, Sir Exal, Bill Livingston, Joeseph Nebus, and Stephen Ratliff)

Inspired by The Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction Drinking Game

The Rules Pull up or print out a MSTing from the website of your choice. Take the prescribed number of drinks for every described event from the beverage of your choice. (I'd recommend nothing stronger than beer). Keep reading until the MSTing if finished or until you can't sit upright...

Cast & Location

Riffers - full cast
1 Drink
● Nonstandard casts (riffers and "Mads") that all come from the same source
(Same TV show, book, anime, etc.)
● +2 if the source is a fanfic or an RPG campaign

2 Drinks
● Alternate casts from the show itself ("Clay and Frank" from "Last of the Wild Horses")
● Joel and Mike are together

3 Drinks
● Gypsy winds up in the theater
● The cast consists of the author and his friends
● +1 drink for every cast member who is the author and/or friends' avatar or RPG character (Stop at +4)
● There's only one riffer in the "theater"
● Standard cast from KTMA or Season 1

FINISH IT!
● There's no riffer, just "original text, response", yet they still call it a "MSTing"

For every riffer who is:
    ● An anime/manga character who's not from DBZ, DBGT, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura,
      Tenchi Muyo!, Oh! My Goddess, Pokemon, Digimon, or   Ranma �
         ● +1 for every character from an anime/manga that hasn't been released in America
            at the time of writing.
    ● A literary character not from Lord Of The Rings or Harry Potter
   ● From American TV (Cartoons count), and not from "Buffy", "Angel", or "Space Ghost:
      Coast 2 Coast"
● Every time the guest star(s) appear in a Gizmonics/Happy Temps/Deep 13 jumpsuit
● The guest star(s) show up later in Deep 13, Castle Forrester, or the Hexfield Viewscreen

    ● The Author or one of his buddies (roleplaying avatars and "fursonas" count )
          ● +1 for real names.
    ● An original character from a MiSTed fic
       ●    CHUG! if they're from the current fic.
    ● One of the Mads/Captors
        ● CHUG! If they're there willingly.

● +1 drink to any of the above if they're a regular part of the "cast"
● +2 if they replaced one of the standard cast (Ex. Mike, Crow, and Aeka from "Tenchi")

2 Drinks
● Any crossovers (Dr.F in Castle Forrester, Bobo in Deep 13, etc.)
    ● CHUG! if the crossover character is Dr. Earhart
● The standard mads experiment on a nonstandard cast. (Ex.: Dr.F tormenting the cast of
Sailor Moon)
    ● CHUG! if it's it's Earhart/Forrester

3 Drinks
● A mad other than a Forrester & Co. experiments on Joel/Mike & The Bots
   ● CHUG! if it's a permanent setup

Location, Location, Location
1 Drink
● A Non-Standard Character is being held on a satellite
    ● +1 if the satellite is a copy of the Satellite of Love
    ● CHUG! if it is the SOL.

2 Drinks
● The riffers aren't being held against their wills (Mike's apartment at the end of "Diabolik"
   counts here)
      ● +1 if they view the fics in a theater anyway
      ● CHUG! if the riffers here are J/M&TB
● J/M&TB are being held anywhere other than the Satellite of Love

Host Segments
1 Drink
● The MST3K theme (any season) is used
● The segments are in prose format
    ● If it switches between prose and script format within the segment
● Any part takes place in a holocabana/deck/suite
● There's an original door sequence
    ● +1 if there's different number of doors than six
● There's an Invention Exchange
    ● +1 if an NSC or Mike is performing them
       ● CHUG! if Mike's clearly doing it after Season 5
● For every midstory Host Segment

2 Drinks
● The words to the theme song have been changed to fit a NSC
● Someone from the fic shows up in the Hexfield Viewscreen
● Either side finds an excuse to get out of the Invention Exchange
● The ending host segment is mostly C&C (Comments and Criticism)
    ● CHUG! if the "C&C" mostly consists of "This sucks. Stop writing"
● One or more of the riffers carry something from the HS back to the fic
● The riffers perform a song based on the fic
    ● +1 if The Mads join in
    ● +2 if the riffers join The Mads song
    ● CHUG! if the song has nothing to do with the fic

3 drinks

● The KTMA version of the theme song is used
● The Nanites appear anywhere other than a SciFi era MSTing
● Someone from the fic shows up in the Satellite/Lobby/Etc

● The fic is:
     ● A self-insert
     ● A crossover
        ● +1 for every universe crossed over past three
     ● An alternate universe fic
     ● A lemon
          ● +1 if the explicit scenes are left unaltered
              ● CHUG! if the scene is a rape (statutory or otherwise)

The Riffs
● The line references any of the following:
    ● Monty Python
        ● +1 if the riff didn't come from "Holy Grail" or the TV Show
    ● The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
    ● Star Wars or Star Trek (Non-Ratliff)
        ● +1 if the reference is from one of the novels or "Clone Wars".
            ● CHUG! if it's from a comic book or one of the animated series
    ● The Simpsons
    ● South Park
    ● Saturday Night Live
        ● +1 if it's from an SNL-based movie.
    ● Song Lyrics
        ● +1 drink the lyrics aren't altered to fit the joke.
    ● "Engrish" ("With Loud Report" and the like count)
    ● Webcomics
        ● +1 if the comic isn't Megatokyo, Sluggy Freelance, Narbonic, or Penny Arcade

● Every time one of the following riffs (or close variations) are used:

    ● +2 if they do it so much it sounds more like whining than riffing

        ● +1 if the MSTing isn't on Fandomination.net
    ● A MeMiST
    ● A Ratliff Fic
         ● CHUG! if it's not a Marrissa Picard fic

The Riffs
● Marrissa Picard references that mention something other than strawberry juice,
"Kobashi Maru" times, long strings of titles, or "I was beaten by a bunch of kids"

● A MSTing author "bamfs" into the theater

● CHUG! if said author has nothing to do with the MSTing you're reading

● A reference leaves you completely baffled
● +1 if a follow up line tells you that you weren't supposed to get it

● A MSTing author is mentioned by name
    ● +1 if that author suddenly appears
    ● +1 if it's one of that particular MSTing's authors.
    ● +1 if he joins in the riffing.

● "The Crow Syndrome" pops up
● +1 if the offending party is immediately malleted, zapped, or otherwise punished

● Someone breaks the Fourth Wall
● +1 if there's an accompanying sound effect

3 Drinks
The Source Material
● The MSTed fic is:
    ● A Professional Work
    ● A Work from The Guttenberg Project

● the MSTing is MetaMiST
    ● +1 if the original MSTing wasn't by Dr. Thinker

● The MSTed material is contained in pictures
    ● +1 if it's not a Jack Chick tract or a Gonterman MSTing

The Riffs
● If anyone else's head explodes, besides Tom's
● CHUG! if they're human

● The riffers stop in the middle of the fic to perform a skit ("SCENE!!!")

● A riff shows the MSTer misread the original text
● +1 if there's a follow-up "My bad" line
