Stamp
This is Stamp. He has been called lots of things but no one really knows what his ingredients are. He is about 6 1/2 months old and about 40 pounds
Stamp could be. . . I think that Stamp could possibly be a Heinz-57- that is, a 57-breed variety. He could possibly part German shepherd from the way his ears are kind of cocked. -Heather Stamp: I agree with Heinz 57! Possibly a shepard mixed with a little of pitbull terrier. There are definately quite a few breeds in there. Hes definately handsome! Looks to me that Stamp may have some Basenji is him. It is a dog breed that has ears and color just like his, but no white. He could be mixed with a pit bull. Whatever breed mix he is, he's awfully cute! ~Likespets
This is Chloie! She is a 3 years old now! She weighs approx. 55-60lbs. We rescued her from a kill shelter at 4 months of age! She was a stray found by a "dog catcher" and we adopted her after 5 days of being there! We were told she was a beagle/lab mix but since shes grown to her full size and maturity we were told she is a pitbull mix. I was just curious on what others think of the breed she is? I know she's definately a mix and pitbull is the dominate gene in her but I'm not sure what else she has! Let me know if ya have an idea! thank you so much

Chloie
Chloie Could Be.. . I think Chloie does have some pitbull in her. She has the muzzle and coloring of a hound. I would guess she has some foxhound in her?

This is Sebastian (Sebo). He weighs 58 pounds and has quite long (3-4 inches), wavy hair (especially on his back). He has very long, very soft hair by his ears (and his ears are really small). He also has long tail hair and "feathers" on his back legs. His feet are quite small for his size. He is the calmest, most easy-going dog I have ever seen. He likes to chase chickens, and when he does, he creeps on the ground like a border collie He is going on three years old. The whites of his eyes show most of the time. We think he might be a lab/samoyed/border collie cross, possibly lab/spitz. He's not terribly active, but barks at EVERYthing (we find it difficult to travel with him as he barks at every little noise all night long while in a hotel home). His bark is very strange -- he softly "boofs" until he figures out it is really something to bark at, and then gets louder. If you have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!.
Sebastian Could be... Sebastian looks part Newfoundland, because of his wooly coat and large head, though he may also have some Golden Retriever. Sebastian is such a good looking dog! He definatly has Australian Shepherd, and maybe some border Collie He looks like he's got some chow chow in him? the creeping thing is border collie, on the nose, though. maybe a combo? i think that chow chows have that watch dogish instinct so that might explain how he barks. i'm not sure he's newfoundland because his legs look pretty delicate and skinny in back and i thought newfs were more robust. just my guess. He must be a tough dog to brush! ;-)

If you can try to guess good luck! I figure she has to be at least part GSD but the rest? I jokingly say she is part coyote since we have so many out here! :) She's not huge, only about 55lbs. Hope these work ok! Her name is Socks by the way.
Socks
Socks Could Be.. . Right off Socks looked like a Dobie. Possibly part German Shepard. ~Heather~ Socks looks like Freds sister! I would say rott/shep for sure. Size of her head and antenna's (GS for sure) She's adorable. ..Rebecca..

Ladywise
This is LadyWise. She is 13 years old and about 50 lbs. She has very short legs but a long and low body. Her fur is very thick with a heavy white undercoat. She was adopted from the shelter when she was 8 weeks old. ~Michelle~
Ladywise could be. . . Ladywise looks like a shepard/husky mix. I volunteer at an animal shelter, and there have been dogs that look just like that. We always put them down as shepard/husky mixes. She sure looks sweet! ~Likespets

Milo
I bought him when he was 9 weeks old. The owner said that he is a pure jack russell with long hair. Now he is 5 months old and weighs 7 kg. It is not usual weight for jack russell. He is an active dog. Let me know if you have an idea.
Milo Could be. . . Milo definately looks like a broken coated Jack Russel Terrier. He is so cute! No idea, but so cute. Can I have him please? :)`Nookie

Michelobe
This is Michelobe, he is 3 years old and weighs about 75 lbs. i've been told he is a APBT mix, which I guess is a possibility. I think he may have some Rhodesian Ridgeback blood, he has no ridge but does have weird swirls on his hind quarters.
Michelobe could be. . His size and build do look very Ridgeback to me...his head is definitely pit bull. Very handsome dog! peggy I think you are right about michelobe being pit/ridgeback. Whatever he is, he looks strong! Look at those thighs, they're HUGE! Maybe he's part kangaroo. His head and front powerful body is very similar to Jenny now at 5.5months! and ideas might solve three mysteries in one :) Nookie
This is Jake. We adopted him about a month ago.... were told that he's a retriever/Irish terrier mix, but people have guessed other breeds as well. He's about 4 and he's 60 pounds.
Jake Could be... Jake Looks like Bengi, what a happy looking dog. At first he looked small and I thought Terrier, but seeing he is 60lbs I would say Irish Wolfhound. ..Rebecca..

Jake
This is Kida. We adopted her from our local animal shelter a year ago. Our Vet estimates she is not about 2 1/2 years old. She now weighs about 43 pounds. We have been told she is a Coonhound mix. Mix with what? We have thought maybe beagle, foxhound, and maybe even some German Shepherd. She is too small to be too much coon, and her ears are too short. She is very broad chested, with powerful legs. She has a deep bark and does the hound bay when stimulated by another critter. She has an even temperment and is great with our kids. She is equally loyal to the whole family and doesn't play favorites.

Koko could be. . . Definately looks part newfie to me. kt
Kida could be ... Kida - For sure Shepard, but the shape of her head seams like Beagle. She looks like a sweet girl, glad you could save her. mutts are the best!

Kit could be... Well for one gorgeous for sure ..Nookie.. The size, coloring and body structure looks a lot like a vizsla, a hungarian pointing breed. Very strong hunting insticts in that breed as well. The eyes remind me of a chesapeake bay retriver.~katie Kit definitely appears to have a good deal of Vizsla in him. We once hada dog that looked a lot like him, and she was a Vizsla mix. Her eyes were the same color as Kit's, too. Sandy Rhoads
My dogs were saved from illegal dog fighting...they were bred to be bait and were rescued from a house with 84 dogs. I got Brutus (the black one) when he was 3 months and Cleo (the blonde) was five months. I've had them for four years. They stand about the same height and are also about the same length, but Cleo is 30 pounds and Brutus is 80. He's not quite as overweight as he looks - just disproportionate and very solid. Cleo has a purple tongue and Brutus' tongue is spotted black and pink. Cleo is very active and loves to chase things. Brutus falls into the couch potato category. Cleo "wuffs" more than barks and Brutus has been known to bay. Cleo can clear a six foot fence from a standstill. Brutus can barely get his front paws off the ground. She is definitely the dominant dog in our house, but Brutus is very protective of both me and Cleo when we are out. Both have tails that curl, but Brutus' is skinny with hardly any hair (like a pig) and Cleo's is long with long hair. I've been told that Brutus is part lab. No guesses on Cleo. ..Heather..
Kit will be 3 years old next month we think, he weighs approx 45lbs. He is supposed to be part German-short-haired pointer, lab and dobe mix. He's super nervous and points at things definately got some hunting genes.Any ideas as to what Kit is mixed with? Thank you ..Louise..

My 10-week-old puppy, Koko, a female Chow mix that I adopted from a rescue organization in Maryland. The only thing I know is that her mother is a full cinnamon Chow, although I have a suspicion that she is a least part Newfoundland, too, given her floppy ears, puffy forehead and webbed feet. Let me know what you think... Thanks! -Gina Mustico
Brutus could be.. Brutus - Black Lab/pit bull mix Well since Brutus sounds bigger and lazier, he may have basset hound in his background ~Katie Cleo could be... Cleo - Yellow lab/pit bull mix Can't see any pit bull in the face, I'll have to go with lab and terrier. ~Katie Cleo looks to be a yellow lab/spitz mix. With all that energy she has, she is either mixed with a terrier or a spitz, or both! She's a cutie!
A special note to their owners: When I read your story about Brutus and Cleo my heart sank and tears welled up in my eyes. I cannot believe how people can be so cruel! I commend you that you saved these to special kids, there should be more people in this world like you! Thank You from one mutt lover to another! ...Rebecca...

Holly was a 'pet shop pup' who we got aged 6 weeks. In the photo she was around 8 - 12 weeks, she's 7 months now. She hasn't changed much, except for being taller with longer legs and a longer muzzle. We were told her mother is a Kerry Blue Terrier, and I suspect some Retriever. She has smooth fur except for a 'wavy' line across her back, same texture as a Flat-Coated Retriever. She seems to have the instinct to chase rodents, which is strange since Kerry Blues weren't used for those purposes, as far as I know anyway! Some people have sugested Greyhound because she is fairly slim...any suggestions?
Holly could be.... I think she might be part terrier or whippet with some lab in her
I heard about your site from a friend , I have myself a little mystery mutt.. I know his mama is a full chow.. Chi will be 1 yr old on March 23rd , he weighs about 40 lbs.. I couldn't get a full body pic but I am sending a collage of pics , 3 side views and one of his face. If you can put him on there , that'd be great , I have had so many guesses on his breed it's crazy. So far people have guess pit bull , golden retriever , german shep , aussie , lab , border collie , basenji and blue heeler. So I thought it was time to turn here. Ty so much.
Chi could be..... Chi - I would have to say German Shepard mix, look at those ears! Maybe mixed with a little golden lab, the pic's are kind of dark, so it's hard to tell. After looking at your web site, I can defiantly see Chow Chow....I think we hit the nail right on the head with this one! I would say german shepard/lab mix.

This is Liza. We adopted her at 5 weeks, and were told that she is a Shar-Pei mix. She is now 12 weeks in this picture, and we definitely can see German Shepard in her....but what else? We are thinking maybe Mastiff. We can't see the Shar-Pei in her at all! Any ideas? Thank you
Lisa could be..... She looks identicle to "Joe" one of the other mystery mutts. With the nose and the ears, I could see some sharpei possibly dane in her along with some definate german shepard,
![]() |
I have just acquired this puppy from the litter in a shelter. I can obviously see the shar pei but I cannot place the other breed. The puppy is seven weeks old in the picture, and approx. 16 inches long (not including the tail). ...Chad
Corky could be.. what a face! so innocent looking. I'd say definately a pit/shar pei mix. Corky - I was thinking pit bull myself, but I can see where you see the Shar Pei...I guess wait till he get's older to see what his prominent markings are going to be...What a cutie pie!
