The first time you drank alcohol

Kyo: When I was in secondary school. I always left the door unlocked to my room on the first floor as every night my friends would come. If you lost to a bet then you had to drink a mixture of drinks which had 50% alcohol in one go. I nearly died once as that was the first time in my life. My head spun round and round, I threw up a lot and couldn't get up. It was very hard for me. From then on, I can't drink much alcohol. It doesn't go with my body. My parents can drink a lot and I am the only one who can't but I don't particularly want to drink so it doesn't really matter.
Die: When I was in Chuu 3, drinking alcohol was popular. So with my bad friend, we bought a can from the machine and drank it at someone's house. I liked the light floaty feeling you get when you drink it so I went to buy it by myself at the machine but I didn't want my parents to find out and I finished drinking on the way home. I got drunk.

Shinya: After I did a live when I was in chuu 3. There were around 5 bands from the same school and we drank alcohol in a nearby park till early morning (laugh) drinking beer and Japanese wine.
[Did you just go with the flow?]
Shinya: Yes. I didn't think it tasted at all nice. I thought I have to as everyone else was (L).
[Was your body okay with alcohol?]
Shinya: It was okay the first time. But the second time, I apparently went wild (L). Apparently I tried to drop someone in the park's fountain (L).

The first time you tried smoking

Kyo: When I was in the first year of secondary school. I tried in the toilet my father's cigarettes. I choked a lot.
++++
Kaoru: I didn't actually try smoking when I was in chuugaku. I thought that it was bad for you (L). Then when I saw River Phoenix's film in my koukou years, he looked kakoii smoking so I tried it.
Die: I was first made to smoke when I was in kou 3. I was asked by a friend but I couldn't take the smell and when I breathed it in, I choked. So I pretended to breathe it in. It was only when I was 18 that I started smoking properly.
Toshiya: When I was in 5th or 6th form of primary school.
[That is very early]
Toshiya: Yes, it was very early. My friends were doing and all I did was puff it a little. I always wanted to do it and I thought that it would be good if I did smoke.
[You felt a bit more mature, different from the rest?] ++++
Shinya: I had made up my mind from the past that I would never smoke. But when I was in chuu 3, I was playing with my friends at the park and they made a white bubble with the smoke. I wanted to do it as well so I did. I borrowed their bubble set and the cigarette and that was the first time, I tried smoking. That was the first and last time I tried smoking.

The first time you were felt glad you were born

Kyo: When I found what I wanted to do. When I find a person who I love.
++++
Kaoru: Other than being in a band, is when I ate a whole water melon (L). I was glad I was alive (L). But after eating I felt somewhat empty. I took at from my home fridge and felt like I had done something wrong?I thought to myself that I wasn't to eat so much and I regretted it (L). This might be a little different to being glad I was born.
++++
Die: I think it must have been when I was doing a live somewhere. If I wasn't born, I wouldn't have been able to have this wonderful experience.
++++
Toshiya: It must be when I am doing a live. In March last year, we did a live at Akasaka Blitz near the day of my birthday and all the fans celebrated it. It left a very strong impression and I felt glad that I was born. I had never had this many people celebrating my birthday. That is only one part but as a whole being part of a band has made me feel this way.

The first time you felt like you had aged

Kaoru: When I think that the koukou baseball players are younger than me. I used to watch them and they looked like old men to me then. But now when I see a bit of them on television, I think 'these people are younger than me'. The moment I think that I realise that I am an old man now.
++++
Toshiya: When I think 'they're so young!' when I ask the age of the younger bands (L). When dir en grey first started people around me said 'you're so young' but now I feel as though I have aged.
++++
Shinya: Recently. This happened to me in the previous tour. My physical strength can not keep up with the tour. After we came off the stage, my bones were aching. But photo-shoots are even more tiring than tours. As I get older, everything gets more tiring.
